@osnix - I' have to ask the FW team about those; afraid I don' know the answer. The AMD platforms don' have the same DPTF/platform profile support that is on the Intel platforms, but I don' think that' what you' referencing (correct me if I' wrong)

Take your time.

I'm referring to is this driver:

https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/platform/x86/amd-pmc.c

https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/drivers/platform/x86/amd-pmc.c#L275

Also, the AGESA version to know if the BIOS can have S0ix support at all, and whatever is worth

trying to poke at it & the SMU.

I'll try to do some more testing this week.

bios: 1.32

my machine drops charge even when powered on:

maybe that could be the cause also for s5 drain? not sure about s3.

i'm using tlp, and the battery starts to charge at 40%.

created a separate issue for that:

@ikovnatsky could you please explain the graph?

On the left axis I see the only label 24.2 Wh for almost all values in your graph. Are those "drops" still bigger than you expect?

i'm using this dashboard:

https://grafana.com/grafana/dashboards/12542

full size:

https://i.imgur.com/N8necRU.png

as i understand to calculate percentage of yet available battery charge you
would have to take energy_now and get the percentage out of energy_full

```
❯ sudo tlp-stat -b
--- TLP 1.3.1 --------------------------------------------
+++ Battery Features: Charge Thresholds and Recalibrate
natacpi    = active (data, thresholds)
tpacpi-bat = inactive (kernel module 'acpi_call' not installed)
tp-smapi   = inactive (ThinkPad not supported)
+++ ThinkPad Battery Status: BAT0
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/manufacturer                   = LGC
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/model_name                     = 5B10W139
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/cycle_count                    =     14
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/energy_full_design             =  50500 [mWh]
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/energy_full                    =  51480 [mWh]
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/energy_now                     =  24210 [mWh]
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/power_now                      =      0 [mW]
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/status                         = Unknown
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/charge_start_threshold         =     40 [%]
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/charge_stop_threshold          =     50 [%]
Charge                                                      =   47.0 [%]
Capacity                                                    =  101.9 [%]
+++ Recommendations
* Install acpi_call kernel module for ThinkPad battery recalibration
❯ echo $((24210*100/51480))
47
```

it dawned on me, that you don't actually notice much battery drain by simply looking at percentage, but with Wh you would see it a little bit better.

i'm not the biggest expert, but i think when the machine is powered on it should not drop any charge?

I agree, however from your graph it's impossible to say, how much does it drop. If you could either

* (1) show 0 mark; or

* (2) increase left axis resolution

it would be way easier to understand, what's going on

I see in the graph that on average you would go down ~0.1Wh in 12 hours or 0.2Wh per day. So your battery would discharge in 4 months if left unattended. This does not sound unreasonable or a problem, to me at least.

Not really an issue but considering the AC is plugged, that should never happen :)

T14s AMD / updated 1.29 --> 1.32:

mode | duration (h) |  drain (%) |  drain (Wh) | consumption (W)

sleep  |    48          |      75      |       40.6      |          ~0.84
off     |     37.5       |        1      |          0.3    |          ~0.01

So S3 is still broken.

S5 is fixed with 1.32

P.S: I had to disable SecureBoot to update BIOS using ISO

@ MarkRHPearson : would it be possible to sign future ISOs, so that they could be used with SecureBoot enabled?

I managed to get the P14s to eat ~0.63 - ~0.66 W/h.

While that is an improvement from the previous certification, is still way too high.
