Regarding your question, whether the sleep-drain occurs in Windows and Linux:

In my experience (i have dual-boot manjaro and Win10) the massive sleep-drain only occurs in Linux. However i dont have any exact numbers.

Did you test with S3 enabled in W10? Also, BIOS set to Linux then?

I am not quite sure how to enable S3 in Win10, as i am a (linux) newbie. However, when i run powercfg -a in the Win10 command prompt I get the message that Standby (S3) is available next to Hybrid Sleep and Hibernate

S3 is also activated in the BIOS.

When I am using Windows, my Laptop consumes approx. <1% per hour in sleep. Whereas when I am using Linux, the battery loses >3-4% per hour in sleep.

Note: Those are not exact numbers, but rather my experience.

I own a T14s Amd and tested S3 sleep in linux and windows and in both i get ~1% batterydrain per hour..

A battery consumption of ~1% per hour in S3 sleep mode is definitely not normal. My old macbook air (2014) has 1% per day.

Please fix this, its not acceptable for a 2000$ notebook!

And that confirms it is either a BIOS bug or a platform optimization/bug or both and has absolutely nothing to do with

the OS itself.

It is not. My P14s was a bit cheaper but I guess is not acceptable for a 1,5K euros laptop either ;)

I can't believe you Mark are already trying to reproduce this bug, with the firmware team, super nerd guys. This is trivial. There are cheaper machines from 2013 that have better battery life during S3 sleep.

I can't believe you launched this product without testing battery consumption while sleeping.

What are the steps to make the warranty work?

Does T14 gen 2 has the same battery drain issue?

From what I understood, from this and other issue threads, the BIOS team doesn't give a ...

in testing other than booting on some ancient Ubuntu OEM images. They don't even run a simple dmesg,

because if they did, they have found 'bugs' reported by us, ages before even releasing a new BIOS.

IOW, if it boots in Linux, is fine..

But I always wondered why the Linux team didn't catch these.

Also why they cannot be bothered to boot some recent kernels, etc..

You say trivial?

Welllllll... maybe it is, maybe it isn't.

But in any case, it requires 'work', and therefore money, which they can't

really justify because guess what? it passed e-cert :P (which basically has nothing to do with this issue whatsoever).

Btw, while the thread name is still T14..., their whole lineup has this issue...

Someone may want to change that in ALL AMD Linux certified models ...

I don't know for sure, but I doubt is fixed..

Sorry, I know most of you can't understand Chinese language, just post it here to complain and show my disappointment.

Let's complain in all languages!

Well. I didn't mean it was trivial to find the bug, but just to notice out it is happening, just like all of us here. Lenovo hasn't acknowledged it yet

I think T14 Gen 2 is an Intel only machine.
