Please, give twotwosix some thumbs up and better some additional comments below.

If we all post this kind of comments everywhere, even a blind horse will notice it.

I'd just like to echo the other comments, with the surprise and disappointment I feel that after 6 months such a basic function is still not working.

The ThinkPad range is not living up to its reputation as something dependable.

What adds insult to injury, is that Lenovo engineers have found time to design a whole new iteration of the P14s, but not the time to fix a firmware bug in the current one..

The P14s (AMD) was clearly sold as "Ubuntu Certified", so this falls into false advertising in my view.

If the issue is not resolved soon, I would take the matter up with my payment provider as a case of mis-selling.

Unless Lenovo want to offer a trade-in of Gen 1 P14s for the P14s Gen 2 for the price difference? (I'm assuming the Gen 2 will be sold in a working state this time)

That's a good idea. I have completely forgotten about this option! Thanks!

If you decide to go this route, please share your experience (I have never had an occasion in my life to do this).

Hi Mark,

Your post regarding passing certification suggests that Lenovo consider the matter closed, and consider the laptop to be functioning "normally"/"within specifications".

Is that correct?

Just a pointer to an older T480 problem where the advertised "battery-bridge" feature is almost always draining the internal batter first. Until there is 5% juice left in the internal battery, the external battery shall kick in reluctantly.

Based on how Lenovo interpret what is a bug and what is a feature, well, the blind horse may not "see" for the years to come :)

Hello everyone,

I followed this thread also for a long time silently and like everyone else I' disapointed and annoyed. I even bought a Windows 10 license to resolve the issue. Guess what - the issue still exists.

I' contacted the Lenovo support and tomorrow a technician will change the battery. I would love to see that this is the solution but it is more likely that the technician and I will become friends. ;-)

I encourage You to do the same to make this issue even more visible to Lenovo.

Greetings, Peter

.....and do you have any improvement after the battery change?

Hi

I have an L15 with the AMD 4750U and am suffering the same battery drain issue. Between workdays (~16 hours) the battery drains from 100% to 68%. During the weekend (~64 hours) the battery will always die.

Following the discussion here I have disconnected the touchpad which did nothing.

This week I decided to take on another crude experiment and disconnect the display which also disabled the lid sensor and the status LED. During the 16 hours of sleep with the display disconnected the battery drained 16% from 100% to 84%. This drain is still too high but would at least make the laptop last the weekend suspended.

The obvious problem with that is it's not a laptop anymore with the screen disconnected.
