Now I' also tested the battery disconnect trick of @osnix : the S3 consumption after 11 hours still remains around

0.8 Wh. However, from what I understand, the emergency-reset hole from @blaumetallic ' workaround does nothing

else then disconnecting both batteries

https://support.lenovo.com/ec/en/solutions/ht510479-device-does-not-restart-after-bios-update/

So in this sense @osnix and @blaumetallic did the same thing by pressing the emergency button or using the battery
disconnect option in BIOS. And I can confirm that on T14 AMD G1 this indeed reduces the S3 drain. Hence, @osnix

idea that the PSU firmware is faulty seems to make sense.

Thank you for testing this :)

Yes, it was my understanding of that reset sequence too, it disconnects the BAT and cuts the power line for X secs.

I tested it but doesn't seem to work on P14s the same way a battery disconnect from BIOS does.

i think i could have also built the custom kernel to see how things are going.

Since I need that thing to do some work, I'll share some results.

Short suspends up2 30min consumes here around 0.24W/h.

1h average consumes 0.379W/h, 2h average 0.376W/h, and 3h average 0.37 W/h.

Longer runs have better results, here a log from an 862 minutes sleep session:

```
There are issues on resume with a somewhat long delay until the screen comes
up but the results regarding power consummation are looking fine, in fact, 4 times better than
Lenovo's W10 'e-cert' numbers, and that with still a lot of issues to solve.
There the patch:
https://crazy.dev.frugalware.org/5.13.1-S0ix-AMD-all-in-one.patch
I need to sort some amdgpu patches from .14 & next and figure that screen delay.
I will do that in the next few days.
Thanks @blaumetallic and @osnix for the details. I've forwarded those on to the FW team and asked for insight/clarification as to what is going on.
As an aside, I personally have only seen the 0.6W in my testing. I've been doing long sleep testing checking the %age drain over 10hr sleeps. My laptop isn't new and I'm running Fedora34 and 1.32 BIOS on it. I found similar to osnix with the disabling devices led to higher power but in my case it was marginal.
I've also escalated this to some of the executive team to make sure they're aware. Normally that's not the path I would go as I work with the product teams and they own this, but I understand the frustrations. Should have done it sooner :(
Mark
PS - @alexkal , Yes S0ix works on Intel for Linux. It is being implemented on AMD (as can be seen by those trying it above) but is still work in progress by the AMD engineers for Linux.
that you even mention me is an insult to the incredible amount of time and knowhow @osnix put into debuggin this. i merely pressed a needle 4x in a hole.
Just make sure osnix gets 2 replacement batteries;-)
Hey @MarkRHPearson , has the amd team been able to find out what the problem is with external screens (no signal on 4k screen when set to 60hz on 4k screen over usb-c dock gen2)? Could you please give us an update?
