ThinkPad X1 Wireless Touch Mouse with linux

Hi,

I have a ThinkPad X1 Wireless Touch Mouse, and I cannot make it work flawlessly with bluetooth under linux.

While connected through USB, mouse movement is smout, but as soon as I connect it through bluetooth, the movement becomes sluggish. I tried a lot of things as described here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97813 but without any success.

- Does someone have it working under linux with bluetooth?

- either with bluetooth or usb, does the back touchpad work under linux?

thanks

Re: ThinkPad X1 Wireless Touch Mouse with linux

Have the same problem. Finally I've made it kinda "working" by following this steps:
[bluetooth]# power off
[bluetooth]# power on
[bluetooth]# scan on
[bluetooth]# connect XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
[your mouse]# trust
[your mouse]# connect XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
[your mouse]# pair
[your mouse]# unblock
[your mouse]# power off
[bluetooth]# power on

I said "working" because it lags badly and is not actually usable.

If anyone could come with solution that would make me very happy Smiley Happy

Re: ThinkPad X1 Wireless Touch Mouse with linux

Unfortunatley, Lenovo didn't publish enough information for developers in Linux to get this working. The reason seems to be how the mouse splits input between the trackpad on the bottom and the mouse.

See details here:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97813

While you can do a tweak to slightly improve things, it'll never be good. Lenovo needs to provide more information to developers on how this mouse works for them to fix it.

I have the same issue with this mouse in Bluetooth mode.

Can someone from Lenovo support give an answer?

Re: ThinkPad X1 Wireless Touch Mouse with linux

Lenovo has great products, expensive ones, and should look to linux comunity in a different way!
This product is USELESS in linux.

Re: ThinkPad X1 Wireless Touch Mouse with linux

Is the product  X1 mouse still not working with linux? I am about to buy it but I have never run Windows before. I just run Linux.

Any advise for Linux users ?

Don't buy it if you want to use it in Bluetooth mode. With USB receiver it works fine.

Re: ThinkPad X1 Wireless Touch Mouse with linux

Playing games with it is quite uncomfortable for me. I would not recommend buying it. Exceptionally, only if you have extra money and/or you like the ThinkPad design.
