Re: Troubles with X1 Carbon 2018 (X1C6) TouchPad and TrackPoint under Linux

In your case device is 13, even worse, the id changes among reboots so you need to use the string identified.

Use `list-props` to see the righ tproperty number.

Yes, I am indeed using list-props but it's a mess. Need to also understand how to pass parameters because for now what I tried was not accepted. Can I ask you your 308 to what option is equivalent?

$ xinput --list-props "PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad"
Device 'PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad':
       Device Enabled (143):   1
       Coordinate Transformation Matrix (145): 1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000

Umm, what protocol are you using? Mine doesn't look like that at all.

This is indeed what I was thinking... it is not recognizing at all the device as it should:

modprobe -r psmouse && modprobe psmouse synaptics_intertouch=1

from dmesg:
input: PS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input23

Umm, I think this may be due to the blacklisted module, this is what I get:

input: Synaptics TM3293-011 as /devices/rmi4-00/input/input14

No idea, it may be down to different kernels? My Ubuntu kernel has indeed some patches.

Please try out the 4.17.1-041701-generic. It works for me as well as touchpad, trackpad, alle the button and double tap, tap to click. Literally everything.

Well. . As I said since the beginning... I am on Debian testing. I cannot install the kernel you suggest and anyway in Debian the 4.17 is in experimental for now.
