What worked to get the W541 kitted out with Linux?

2017-10-21, 0:54 AM

I've installed Arch Linux on Lenovo Thinkpad W541 i7 4810MQ Quad 2.8GHz.

Anyone care to comment about the Kernel Modules or other packages which will,

- get the F1 key light off
- make the F-keys usable
- enable trackpad/touchpoint functions

- Wireless- Operation not possible due to RF-kill

or whatever you've done to get this particular model to work well with Linux

I am also specifically looking for a driver to recognize the touchpad as a touchpad (and not just a standard mouse) in Gnome 3.22
