Re: Yoga 900-13ISK2 - BIOS update for setting RAID mode for missing hard drive on linux install

Linux kernel developer Alan Cox replied to the press quoting Lenovo.

Lenovo: "Unsupported models will rely on Linux operating system vendors releasing new kernel and drivers to support features such as RAID on SSD"

Alan Cox: "Good to see that the tech press fact check comments from companies as well as the political press fact check politicians. I'm reading this on a box with RAID1 SSD. It's had RAID1 SSD for some years."

Cox goes on to describe that Linux supports RAID properly and that Windows does not.

It's not just Linux it's all other OS as well win 7 and 8.1 you can't install... Sad that you don't know it before a buy. The sales man said to me that it would be nice leptop for win 7. Now Im on my way to best buy hoping they will take it back it's not a 14 days yet. With descigions like that people not making this world better. Allright Lenovo one more returned laptop to you.

Return my yoga 900 back to best buy. Found that this laptop has high rating on returns. 2 out 5. The reason well known. Talk to a few proffesionals and found out that not just you can't install any others OS but also you got stuck with Win 10 what preinstalled. You won't be able even re-install your windows 10. Whatever happend to it well you know. Also those people saying it's actually illegal what Lenovo does. Because you paing for hardware you should be able to run whatever you want on. And only Lenovo does this s...
Got myself insted ASUS ux303ub.. Same money much better processor and vidiocard. Same SSD capacity. Less Ram but I defanetly can live with that. I realy happy now with my new mashine. And LENOVO you just lost your one more customer I was buying only Lenovos before this 900.. LENOVO bye bye good bye I won't miss you.

Hi

How about Lenovo Yoga 700 and 710? Will they natively support Linux?
