The answer is yes, the statement was included in the updated press release regarding this subject;

"Newer systems, like the Lenovo Yoga 910 convertible, will already have the option to select SATA Controller Mode in BIOS"

For those who have installed the bios, has the boot logo changed to an ugly colorful one?

Re: Yoga 900-13ISK2 - BIOS update for setting RAID mode for missing hard drive on linux install

Need some help here please.

I did finally get this BIOS update installed (I had to first go into the BIOS setup and change the option "BIOS Back Flash" under "Configuration" to [Enabled], otherwise it was giving me a version error and wouldn't install)

I still had issues installing Linux, how I finally installed it was to said RAID to ACPCI, and change EUFI to Legacy Mode.

I was able to do a full installation of Debian (Parrot Security OS, specifically).

HOWEVER, after the lnux install said it was successful and I rebooted, I am no able to get booted into my OS.  At start-up I get an error "Insert boot disk"

So it's not seeing the new system.  I tried going back into the BIOS and adjusting settings (changing RAID setting back, alternating between EUFI and Legacy), haven't found any magic combination yet.

Please advise what would be the BIOS configuration needed:

1) to install Linux

2) to boot Linux once installed

(and/or how to fix this from this point. Again the install said it was successful)

Thank you in advance and I do appreciate your making this special BIOS available (I don't appreciate that the Lenovo Yoga can't just support Linux out of the box, this is a replacement system for me, the exact same Yoga 900 I bought 9 months ago (same model except 900-13ISK instead of 900-13ISK2) installed this exact distro of Linux just fine.

Re: Yoga 900-13ISK2 - BIOS update for setting RAID mode for missing hard drive on linux install

I'm using Kubuntu 16.10 ("Yakkety") on a Yoga 900-13ISK2 and had no issues after the whole "backflash" stuff.

Same BIOS settings were used for install as are for running.

In BIOS : "Information":

Secure Boot Status = Enabled (not that you can change it here)

In BIOS : "Configuration":

  SATA Controller Mode : AHCI

  Intel Virtual Technology : Enabled

  HotKey Mode : Enabled (???)

  DPTF : Enabled (???)

In BIOS : "Security":

Intel Platform Trust Technology : Enabled

  Secure Boot : Enabled

In BIOS : "Boot"

  Boot Mode : UEFI

  Fast Boot : Enabled

  USB Boot : Enabled

I haven't looked lately but I was sure Debian supported UEFI and a signed boot loader...?

Regarding the logo, yes, but it's brief and if that's the worst problem I can live with it...

Otherwise everything is good (especially: no weird thermal or power issues).

Now to get cracking on some scripts to handle the famous hinge...
