It's working as designed. This is what happens even if the nav bar isn't hidden, as soon as you overlap the nav bar and the screen, the screen won't respond. With the nav bar hidden -- even in apps that do it automatically -- I can still swipe left or right at the bottom of the screen, but up or down is likely to bring up the nav bar.

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

looks like more ppl having problem with this 'feature'

https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/help/edge-touch-screen-responding-t3569189

disappointed with lenovo as they acknowledge there's such ''feature/bug'' but ask user to deal with it instead of offering option to user

Swiping left or right at the bottom part of the screen also doesn't work. The top part of the screen responds even if I only touch it with 0.2mm of my thinger, but the bottom part does not. It seems strange to me that this is necessary for the "swipe up" gesture, because the non-responsive part is apparently not required for the "swipe down" gesture at the top of the screen..

Screen bottom not responding promptly when typing. Especially the Space Bar, Number Toggle area.

2017-03-17, 9:33 AM

Mine is a Lenovo p2 (india).

Has anyone felt this issue: Screen's bottom-most part is not responding promptly when typing. Especially the Space Bar, Number Toggle area. Yes it registers key-presses if i touch again (Intentional touches). So It's not dead. But in normal typing it mostly misses the SPACE key, number-toggle key, and those bottom-most keys. I have only applied Lenovo's in-box screen film. Nothing else. Screen surface is clean. Tried restarting and all that but it's there. Its most noticeable on Typing. (Nowhere we need to go to that part i guess). The phone has not been dropped or mishandled. Its new, bought 4 days ago.

Any solution? Or is anybody else facing the same?

Yes, I have the same problem. And I think that every P2 have the problem with it. In landscape mode, there is problem with the touch of anything located entirely within the right of the screen.

Quite a number of pp at XDA also suffer similar experience. Too bad, as u guys can see, a representative replied acknowledging there's such issue but they will not take any actions. I find it really annoying as nd to careful not to interact with the activation area.

Nd bigger audience only Lenovo will take action

Please make possible permanently hide the annoying screen buttons.

A simple option in the setup menu.

Re: Bottom part of screen non responsive after hiding the navi bar

Just to highlight again that my unit does NOT have this issue. My unit also does NOT have the depressed/sunken glass besides the fingerprint sensor.

 Go to https://youtu.be/z_VUV8-wR4M

I have a feeling that this non-responsive touch at the bottom of the screen is relevant to the depressed/sunken glass fiasco.

Any believers...?

Not likely as a moderator above jz replied, it was mainly due to hiding the navi bar.

The activation area, swipe up to bring up navi bar is the cause for the issue.
