Disable Haptic Feedback while unlocking Lenovo P2 through fingerprint

2017-05-20, 14:21 PM

Even though I disabled vibrations in my phone, it still vibrates while unlocking the phone through biometric.

The only time it stops vibrating, when it goes to Power saver mode. There should be an option to stop all the vibrations in this phone.

I agree, even when shutting off the vibration.. it still gives that haptic feedback when unlocking.. they should fix that.

This is working as designed. The vibrate is an important feedback to let you know that the fingerprint was activated. For example it will vibrate twice when an incorrect finger is used. All of our phones have the same haptic feedback.

I am not saying that it should not be there at all but there are two important points to consider:

1. If it is an important feature then why it gets disabled when the power saver is turned on.

2. What if the user finds it annoying and wants to disable it.

The end user should have the freedom of customising the phone the way he/she wants.

Re: Disable Haptic Feedback while unlocking Lenovo P2 through fingerprint

Recently, I have found a new way to disable the haptic feedback while unlocking the phone using fingerprint. If you just turn on the "Do not disturb mode" and select the "Total Silence" option then it will disable all kinds of sounds as well as any kind of vibration. Also, I was bit surprised to find out that it also disables the media volume and hence you won't be able to enjoy music?.

So, now the question is if that can be disabled while on "Total Silence", then why can't Lenovo provide an option to disable all kinds of vibration including those while unlocking the phone using fingerprint, in the "Do not disturb mode" itself? At, least they should provide more options to "define the rules" for "Do not disturb mode" including "Turn off all vibrations". That would be very nice and "Do not disturb" is the perfect control panel to define these options.

Looking forward to here from Lenovo regarding this. (Screenshot included)

The short answer is that to include every possible variation in behaviors would result in menus that go on for days. :smileywink: Plus every additional variation also introduces potential bugs.

However, your request is perfectly reasonable and we will share it with the product teams. Thanks for the feedback.

It is annoying. Make it configurable.

Must be user configurable. Please!

Otherwise my options appear to be limited to rooting the phone, or performing surgery on it to cut the wires to the motor!

Come on Lenovo/Motorola!
