Re: Lenovo p2 unlocking bootloader

2018-04-28, 6:46 AM

The usual response that I got from lenovo care-

"we do not support unlocking the bootloader, we do not have any resources regarding the same."

After relentlessly emailing again and again I got this response-

"We would like to inform you that we will forward the same to our concerned team and we will get back to you once we get  an update from them. Your patience and co-operation is highly appreciated in this regards."

Dont know whether it was done to keep me quiet.Hope they respond.

See how responsive and engaged Lenovo is through this forum, and imagine how it must be internally for them.

It must be quite a pain for the forum moderators to be in the middle.

Most of you seem to regreat having bought this Lenovo phone... I don't... I love the P2 and want to keep it for long... no need to want more when you have already enough.

Patience is a virtue, stop hurting yourselves and others because you don't have what you wanted immediately and for free.

I want to thank the Lenovo support team for what they are doing... Silence is not a lie... it is hard to furnish an ETA when you get no news internally. They cannot admit officially... so they keep silent I think.

At least they could say "sorry, we don't have any ETA" and "we don't know what's happening".

edit: already have a OnePlus 5, yesterday received the update to Oreo 8.1 - this is professional customer care and service.

I agree but they don't and won't... it has been the same way each time... so why getting upset... We knew what to expect...

Cheap phone... Great hardware... I was surprised to find such a good Android customization... We now have an official Lineage support... and all we have is to wait, so why getting upset, they will not move faster.

What you said is logical but human emotions is not logical. Not everybody have the patience, I do not regret having bought the P2 it is a great device but having to wait 14 days + 1 month is making my patience running thin. I am frustrated. A process that should be as simple as tapping on the screen a few times now takes a month and a half.

I can't do anything anyway so I will quit thinking about modding my phone.

That said I'm not sure if this forum is ran by volunteers or lenovo staff though. If it's ran by full time staff, bad customer service. I am not blaming the customer service people either.

OEM Unlocking is a difficult task in recent Lenovo devices, especially in P2a42. It is constantly showing "LenovoID without permission" and it's super annoying. If anyone knows a workaround, please help.

Did you write this with your eyes closed?
Can't you see what we all are talking about? If anyone of us knew a workaround, would we be here making a fool of ourselves when none of the lenovo staff is replying?
Atleast you could read one page or comments and you would have known what's going on.

I didn't mean to touch anyone's nerve, just writing this out of desperation. Lenovo is doing nothing about the issue so what else can we do but to write. I think this LenovoID thing worked in the past but it doesn't anymore, so my request to Lenovo is just move on and remove the LenovoID thing entirely and let us unlock the bootloader just by swapping the OEM Unlocking in the Developer Options. Release an OTA update removing the LenovoID and make us all happy.

Just like you write. Simple solution from Lenovo OTA Update to solve this dispute. It's not fair to Lenovo because they will no longer issue updates to P2 to block l bootloader and will not allow users to try custom ROM with OS 8.0 Now, development goes to the front and it's up to the user or installs custom or leaves the original axis.
