Ask Three why they haven't released the update they have been testing for the past few months.
As I've said in another thread, Lenovo will not provide an OTA for the UK directly because the only devices sold in the UK came with customised firmware from Three, with Three providing the updates themselves. Lenovo only provide OTA updates for devices sold with generic, global firmware on them.

Lenovo p2 is a popular device globally. It has proven to be one of the best phone in it's price bracket. Not providing update to the device would be a huge mistake and will have a detrimental impact on the future sales of the lenovo product line.

It's highly unbelievable that the P2 will be updraged to Android 8.0! My phone is the UK 4/32GB version and the original firmware was S056 from Three. I unlocked the bootloader a long time ago back in March, then flashed twrp and installed the latest S233 Nougat 7.0. No problems. My only "issue" with this phone is the missing custom rom scene. Yes, there are many custom roms on xda, but they're quite outdated.
