WhatsApp and Gmail app issue

Hi,

WhatsApp and Gmail apps don't restart itself after switching on and off the power saver switch on the phone. I need to open the apps myself to get emails and WhatsApp messages. Many other apps open by itself but only these are the ones I've seen problematic. Great phone, great battery but this is annoying.  I've done all the updates by the way. I'm looking forward for a solution. Is there any fix or we should wait for the  next update? Thanks.

Re: WhatsApp and Gmail app issue

hey,

Make sure sync is ON

To confirm go to settings/Accounts

Also make sure auto start is not forbiden.

Go to settings/power manager/ background app management

Makr sure the switch is OFF for whatsapp and gmail.

The switch should be OFF,not ON.

Regards,
Amal

Re: WhatsApp and Gmail app issue

I checked the setting you described. Both are the the way they should be. Sync is on , auto start for WhatsApp is enabled. But it's still happening.

Re: WhatsApp and Gmail app issue

very unhelpful switch. It would have been better to have a switch to mute the phone and activate the vibration.

You have to also ensure to LOCK the app running in the "Recent App" list.

I've also done that. No success 😁 . Man, is it just me having this problem?

It happens in all types of connections. Power save kills all background apps including WhatsApp and stops connections. But when power save mode is disabled by the switch on the phone WhatsApp doesn't restart. I have to open it manually to get messages again.

Re: WhatsApp and Gmail app issue

Hey,

I once had the same problem with another brand phone. It was because of the inbuilt doze mode. I think this is also due to the same. Let me check with my friends who has the phone. Meantime post your updates.

Thanks man.

One more update I should mention. Uninstalling and installing again WhatsApp, putting a WhatsApp widget on the menu isn't helping either. I also can't get emails with Gmail app.
