If your ISP is not supported by default, you can create your custom AC profile using information can be found here:
http://www.mcc-mnc.com

although, you have to ask your ISP about the <carrierid>

Mandatory fields are:

- <mcnc>   -   3 digit MCC + 3 digit MNC
- <carrierid>   -   should ask for it
- <SMSSupport>   -   "true" if you want it
- all the network information, like APN, authtype   -   you can check this on a mobile phone's settings (APN is usualy like: net or www or online ...etc , authtype is usualy PAP)
- you'll have to set an <acprofilename> wich controls the name of the connection in the connection list

You can fill up the information you have, but all other field's value can be left empty - as far as I know.

Re: Access Connection SMS Menu disappeared!!!!

2014-02-05, 11:05 AM

I must admit this issue has got me stumped. I have a x61 tablet running Vista 32 with a Sienna MC8775  WWan card. Using a Vodafone sim card and Vodaphone software, I can send and receive sms messages. But I prefer using Access Connections to allow me to easily switch between my different wifi locations and my Wwan. But the sms menu just doesn't appear. I checked and tweaked AC_wanprofiles.xml and Sierra_profile.xml as per previous posts but nothing seems to work. I also obtain an Optus sim card to see it it made a difference. I was able to connect to the Optus network with no problem but the sms menu refuses to appear!

It is not a hardware problem because the MC8775 is able to send sms via the Vodafone mobile broadband software. There is just something in Access Connections that doesn't trigger the sms menu. Has anyone had any luck with Wwan Card and AC?

Try this

1. Go to AC change the option from basic to advance

2. Select tools

3. Click on global setting

4. Tick enable sms features

I have a bit different sms problem. Sms button is active and system notify me about incoming sms but incoming sms list is always empty. OneClick Internet software from Sony shows me incoming messages.

How can I see incoming sms in Lenovo Access Connection software?

I have same issue. It shows incoming sms notification, but list of received or sent sms is empty.

Installed 5.93 version of Access Connections, SMS functionality works just fine.

P.S. I'm on ThinkPad T530 with Gobi 3000 WWAN option.
