Access Connections 5.33 no WiFi

2009-10-30, 13:11 PM

Hello everyone.

I am new to the community but have been following the threads on AC for a while.

Seems I am having the same issues as others have reported with Access Connections losing WiFi.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times in the correct order that others have had success with and still Access Connections does not recognize the WiFi adapter. F5 hotkey only shows the Bluetooth as well.

Here is the order that I have followed:

Uninstall Power management, Hotkey driver, WLAN driver, Access connections

Reinstall in reverse order

I also read somewhere that the KB Customizer needs installed- have tried that too and no luck.

I have downloaded all latest drivers from Lenovo and tried the Intel WiFi drivers from both Lenovo and the Intel site. What am I doing wrong here?  I did not have this issue with older versions of TVAC on my T60.

Try this:

1. Install TVSU, but don't run it yet..  http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-66956

2. Uninstall Power management, Hotkey driver, WLAN driver, Access connections

3. Reboot and cancel any "Found New Hardware" wizards.

4.  Run TVSU and let it install updates.  Install everything critical and recommended and check optional for the four above components and anything else driver based for updayes.

Does the wireless adapter indicator light turn on? Is the wireless adapter switch on the front of the machine set to on?

hardware switch is on and the radio is on- Windows will recognize it and I can connect through that, however I would like to get Access connections working so that I can import my profiles.

I am running exact same problem on a T60 with Intel 3945ABG wireless adapter.  Gave up after a dozen tries with components in different orders.  Resolved my issue by downgrading to Access Connections 5.30.

Not familiar with newer thinkpads, so I don't know if you need the latest and greatest driver, but release notes indicate Access Connections 5.30 should work with your T400 and Intel 5100AGN.

OK, New problem. Access Connections stopped working again. Previous steps fixed issue in the past, however when I try to follow them again TVSU does not find the updates. It is only downloading messages center and help.

Now I have uninstalled the applications and drivers from the previous post- System Update does not recognize that these applications are not there any more??
