Battery Charge Threshold Lenovo Vantage not working

2020-05-29, 8:57 AM

the Battery Charge Threshold functionality I have set up in Lenovo Vantage is not working. I have an upper limit set of 80%, but it does not stop charging at 80%, it keeps charging until it reaches 100%. This functionality was working fine for me, but it stopped working 3 months ago more or less.

Anybody can help me with this?

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

A couple of things to try.

1. This situation used to be common a few months ago after driver updates. I would suggest that you uninstall Vantage, reboot the system, then reinstall Vantage from the Microsoft store.

2. If the battery charges to over 80% (in your example) while on AC power and then you enable Battery Threshold, then the system will continue to draw power from AC rather than from the battery. The battery will remain fully charged, self-draining at a very slow rate. In that situation, try running the system on battery only until it drains below 75%. Then plug it into AC. Does it now stop at 80% or continue to 100%?

hi

Could you please try to drain the battery (detach AC) to less than 80%

And then attach AC again and check if it still goes to 100%?
