Battery guage disappeared from taskbar

2016-12-19, 13:50 PM

Hi all,

I have a 2 week old Yoga 910. I had the BATTERY GUAGE enabled on my taskbar through Lenovo Settings.  It was functioning correctly.

I booted the computer this morning to find the battery guage toolbar and it's associated quick settings have simply dissappeared.  I have checked in Lenovo settings > Settings and where the switch was to enable this function is no longer there.

I have wasted plenty of time searching the internet and these forums trying to find a solution but to no avail.  It appears to be a problem with my Lenovo Settings program that has removed this functionality altogether.  Can someone from Lenovo please inform me how to re-enable it?

Please see attached screenshot of my Lenovo Settings > Settings showing the missing switch.

Could you right click the taskbar[in a blank area] and select Toolbars and see if any battery gauge shows up?

Yes indeed. I have already checked that... Thinking that the toolbar may have simply been switched off or hidden.

Unfortunately, having right clicked the task bar and checked the toolbar context menu that shows up there is no longer a battery gauge toolbar available as there was previously.

Also... When I click 'lenovo settings' > settings, if I'm quick enough I can just see the spinning 'processing' wheel for a second as it attempts to display the battery gauge switch... Then it disappears and no switch is displayed as per my previous screenshot.

On the same settings screen is the release notes.

 https://settingsfeedback.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1077760-release-version-history

Note version 3.122... now you see it ...now you dont.

Maybe some other forum users are experiencing your issue.   I have a desktop.

Your settings version upon opening the box was ...now you see it.  Your current version 3.133.0.0 is now you dont.

Hi.

Not that I know much, but I think I was told that the Battery Guage was included on the "Lenovo System Interface Foundation." I remember that I also used to look for the Battery Gauge without finding it, until I updated the Syste Interface Foundation.

Check it out, update it, reboot and post backif it shows up.

Regards

Martin is right.  The battery gauge is dynamically installed after settings app is updated.

System Interface Foundation self updated to 1.0.069.2 on my machine today.

Is the battery gauge now showing on your machine?

Sadly... still no joy. System Interface Foundation is 1.0.069.02 and Lenovo Settings is latest version.  Still no switch for battery guage in the settings as per the attached screenshots.

I'm guessing it has just failed for me.

Hi.

I confirm I got the same versions, but on my case the Lenovo Battery Gauge shows up on the Windows bar.

Hi.

I also noticed I have this option on the bottom of the Lenovo Settings version:
