Client Security Solution-Password Recovery error!

2009-05-19, 14:36 PM

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum...I live in India. I own a Thinkpad X61s, and I have to say it is an absolutely amazing laptop! The best ever!

But I have one problem, I recently changed my Windows password, and after rebooting,  a Client Security Verify Identity window opened asking me for the password, and I entered the new password, and it shows authentication failed! The password is correct, and it works, but still it shows an error, even after rebooting and trying it out many times! :(

Please help guys

There is another thread about the problem in this forum. The proposed solution in the thread is as following:

CCS-->Advanced Menu--> Reset Security Setting.

If you can access to this menu (the "Verify Identity" windows does NOT prevent you from accessing to this menu), test this option too.

In the version I run, 8.00 you can choose a paraphrase, or base it on Windows password.   If you selected Windows password, it should change with the Windows password.   If not something else is broken.   Perhaps you used a special character?   Try resetting your windows password to what it was before?  Good luck

Clear the security chipset (BIOS --> Security --> Security Chip --> Clear Security Chip)  and try again.

I hope it works for you.

Hey bahador,
I uninstalled CSS8.0 and installed 8.21...but still I'm facing the same problem! I followed your precedure exactly. But at first there was not Clear Security Chip option. So restarted my laptop and held down F1 and then force shutdown it. This time th option was present, and I did select YES and saved and exitted....but even then it poses the same problem!

I use Windows XP and hence I cannot follow the instructions given in the thread you mentioned... :(
