Installed and so far so good even after after an additional restart. I am going let this simmer a few days before I get to happy.

Thanks for your quick feedback!  Can you also check that the Dolby-related settings are still available in Vantage, same as before?

I have already done so after the second restart and pleased to report found no crashes. ?

Edit: So what was the problem that was causing the crashes?

Edit2: Will I need to do DolbyPlugins reconfiguring again in the future say after a System Interface Foundation or Vantage update?

As it happens I never had Dolby related settings in Vantage. There was something /is something to click on which tells you about Dolby and then click on hardware settings, but in the settings I just have something about eye care and microphone settings. Which I am not concerned with, I was concerned about the app crash warnings that had been happening numerous times a day for the past few weeks, and hopefully that is cleared up now.

The crash has something to do with initializing a microphone device.  The dolby plugin tries to determine if microphone is in use in order to apply certain settings.  So the crash may have happened by having a disabled microphone, or something else unexpected about the microphone.  Although I still can't reproduce the problem here.  Does this give you any clue about why the problem may have happened on your system?

No, the plugin will continue to update automatically in the future when new versions are released.  You don't have to do anything.

Well I do not have hooked up or own any microphone for the system not even a webcam. So if a DolbyPlugin is looking for anything of that nature it will not find one.

My thinking was just this if the DolbyPlugins update it would reverse the corrections made yesterday.

I guess time will tell and today's bootup showed no crashes Lenovo.Modern.ImController.PluginHost Reliability Monitor.

   Hooray!!
