Latest power manager cannot add up two batteries! (V3.29/V3.30)

2010-09-07, 16:13 PM

Folks,

I use an x301 with my DVD replaced by the battery bay....  up until 3.29... I'm almost 100% sure it would add the total time per battery to give me my total available...

Now I have a ridiculous situation where the computer is saying that I have only 9 minutes to go on battery life (and yet 68% remaining!)...

Sigh...

Can we revert to the old way please?

tx

Hi All,

Power Manager 3.31 has been released, please update and test if it works.

Version 3.31

  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where the battery remaining time showed wrong value when two batteries were attached.

Download Link Here

The Power Manager 1.89 for XP will be releasing within this week as well.

Re: Latest power manager cannot add up two batteries! (V3.29/V3.30)

Hello,

the I have updated the Lenovo Engery Manager to version 3.30 (not sure which version as installed before). I am also using two batteries (one instead of the DVD drive) with my T410s. I am using Windows 7 Professional (x86).

Now the time bar in the start menue now only shows the time until the first battery is empty and not the complete time for both batteries.

While using an older version the complete time until both batteries are empty have been shown. Windows does this.

Anyone else having this problem?

Is there a solution?

Thanks

JR

Same problem on my X300 with 6-cell + bay battery. If anyone finds a solution, please tell how to get back the old behavior. You have to open the power manager tool to find out which of the two batteries you're currently draining, which takes longer time than opening the entire office suite combined.

If I have the main battery and ultrabay battery both installed in my t400s the Lenovo battery gauge is very annoying.  It tells me the expected running time of the currently in use battery it seems - not the total system expected running time.  The same for charging - tells me how long it expects the currently charging battery to take.    Anyone know how to get it to show total time instead of individual time?

What can I say more than, I have the same issue (and you should use the forum search :-):
http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkVantage-Technologies/Energie-Manager-3-30-stupid-and-olny-shows-time-of-one-battery/td-p/277398

Is my mind corret that the Energie Manager before Version 3.30 showed the runtime of BOTH batteries? Windows 7 Pro x86 does!
