Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox notifies me every hour that "no problem has been found"

2011-02-07, 14:54 PM

Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox notifies me every hour that "no problem has been found". This is done via a green box popping up from the system tray.

My System: 43494JG, Windows 7, LTT 6.0.5717.36

Is there a way to stop that?

Silvan

Hi,

I've been having the same problem as the original poster and I tried going to my settings. However, I can't seem to find the option to disable notifications.

I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks a lot!

Surprising answer from a "Lenovo Staff" member. There is no setting for disabling notifications. I have all checkboxes cleared. There are no other choices on the settings tab.

  1. Enable scheduled hardware check
  2. Check for updates
  3. Show status icon
  4. Activate online support

But I get the popup window as well. I think it's time Lenovo fixed this (and Lenovo employees to become more familiar with their software) . Not only is it intrusive, it also uses CPU cycles to check and then generate the popup. I'd like to choose when I want to do a hardware check.

I agree!

If they don't fix it VERY soon, I have to uninstall this **bleep** toolbox. It's disturbing!

Lenovo - do something please!

You are lucky. I get the notification about every 15 minutes.

ThinkVantage Toolbox is making me mad.

I discovered there is a KB article: Toolbox "No Problems Found" popup message that acknowledge the bug.
