Re: Lenovo Vantage Battery Conservation mode gone? Help

Hello,
thanks for your support, I've tried both resetting and uninstalling and reinstalling Vantage with no luck, but you were right, Yoga 520 is supported… I think it was because of Windows 10, I let it download and install all the pending updates and after a few reboots I installed Vantage again and all the options were there! ;)

Re: Lenovo Vantage Battery Conservation mode gone? Help

Hi All!

I wanted to check the same as the switch seen on my screenshot is indeed missing from my Yoga 530. However, I have a message instead saying that the software is automatically optimizes the battery, so this function is not needed.

Its in Hungarian but the "Tárolási mód" means conservation mode in English. Can you please assure me that it is really the case 'cause I don't want to have my brand new Yoga's battery to be ruined in a couple of month, as most of the time the notebook is plugged in...

Thank you for your help! :smileywink:

According to our battery engineer, the Li-Poly batteries used in models such as Yoga 530 do not benefit from Conservation Mode.  This is the reason why Vantage says something like "the function is not needed".

Thank for the prompt reply.

So does this mean I can just keep it plugged in and that's it? :)

Thank you!

I have Legion Y53015ICH, and when I updated the BIOS today, the option to enable Battery Conservation mode is gone and replaced with the following text

Your Lenovo PC is automatically optimizes the health of your battery, and this function is no longer necessary

Is it the same case ? and why in the previous BIOS update(Dated 29 Sep 2018) that option was available ?

My Lenovo G580 used to work very well for years, and the battery was still holding more than 1 hour
Then I activated the battery "conservation mode" that supposedly increases its life.
Then I left my computer in a cabinet for 3 month - as I did every winter in the past without problem.
When I switched it back on, my "conserved battery" was... dead! Zero, not charging, not usable any more, I must now replace it! :-(((
This may explain why Lenovo hesitates to show the "conservation mode"?!?

What problem are you having?  The download links from months ago are about a problem that has been fixed, so those links aren't needed anymore.  Please post the details about your problem here rather than sending me a private message.  Thanks!

Can confirm, installing vantage finally brought it back, and by back I mean any charging at all, before this a windows 10 update broke all charging on x60 Thinkpads.

There is the problem that the battery guage can't be reset though.
