Original Factory Restore Windows 7 Problem

2011-12-04, 14:17 PM

I did original factory restore Windows 7,  64 bit using the recovery disc set  for my Thinkpad T500, the issue is when I restart always rescue and recovery 4.3 screen comes up with following errors.

The errors are (in order or appearance):

MSGBOX.EXE Application Error
The instruction at 0x77891b3f referenced memory at 0x8c26655a. The memory could not be read.

PDASW.EXE Application Error
The instruction at 0x7C34F937 referenced memory at 0x0026B000. The memory could not be written.

The system has not shown any symptoms of hardware problems all the diagnostic tests passed sucessfully.

But when I press F8 during restart and use Last good configuration it works but after restart always I get above mentioned error again.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

On older Thinkpads there was an issue while restoring factory recovery from CD-ROM, if there were more partitions on the harddisk, than the factory default. Additional partitions had to be deleted befor factory recovery from CD.

Maybe you have the same problem.

How much memory do you have in your T500?

Do the memory-modules have a different size? In that case remove the smaller one after checking the RAM with MEMTEST86 (as bootable ISO) --> Google

Thanks for the reply. This time I did reformate HDD before reloading with the recovery disc.

I am getting same errors if I restart  after automatic  windows upgrades.

I am not getting these errors,  If I restart immediately after reloading with the recovery disc but before automatic  windows upgrades.

Thanks
