Open the tvtpwm.jar with the suggested 7-zip-editor or rename the tvtpwm.jar to tvtpwm.jar.zip. open it with your zip-tool, extract the file and edit it.

Re: Password Manager incompatible with Firefox 3

It didnt work for me with winRAR, yet after several tries and fails i downloaded 7zip and it worked immediately.

But i'd like to say its very poor of lenovo to not release an update by them self, and distribute it via mozilla. This should be expectable from a high technology company, and thinkvantage is usually a TOP program.

So lenovo: The Thinkpads are top, but please care more about your software. Having a forum and community is not enough if you dont provide the respective service......................

Re: Password Manager incompatible with Firefox 3

2008-06-20, 16:44 PM
The add-in is now working, but ...

After picking an entry from Password Manager pop-up, clicking 'Ok', and the webpage form being filled in; the Password Manager window pops up again and I have to click 'Cancel' to get it to go away. The sequence seems to suggest that after filling in the fields on the webpage, there is a page refresh which then causes the Password Manager to pop-up again.

Is this my problem with settings or preferences or a behavior that is to be expected?

Thanks in advance.

It's now working for me too after performing the recommended editing with 7-Zip. However, if there are two entries for a site, after selecting one name the password window open again and I have to click Cancel. This action did not occur with Firefox 2 and IE 7 is still ok.

Re: Password Manager incompatible with Firefox 3

I downloaded the 7-zip, opened the file install.rdf by going to edit,  then I save and close and then it asks me if I want to update the file so I said ok and then an error appeared telling me that I cannot change the file and said the file was located in the temporal folder, has anyone had this problem? can I delete the file and downloaded again to try again? from where?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks

Peter256,
Thank you for pointing out the multiple username/password variable in relation to the multiple times that the Password Manager window pops-up. I forgot to mention that this is my situation as well.

The modifications worked Great! Thanks so much... because Firefox 3 was installed on the T61 by default - I had not had a chance to use this, but now it works great :)

I downloaded dkfn's file, opened Firefox 3.0, opened the Add-ons window and drag-dropped the .xpi file into it.  It then showed up on the Add-ons list.  When I opened up a web-page for which I knew I had a saved ThinkVantage Password Manager password, Firefox immediately crashed.

Might this have something to do with the version of Client Security Solution that I have on my T61?  I was pretty certain it was the latest, but I notice that the path where the .xpi should have been, C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Client Security Solution\, has no xpi files at all.
