When will the Edge 530 and its fingerprint reader be supported?

That's one of the big reasons I selected a Thinkpad when I bought a new computer this month.  I looked for the computer with the ThinkPoint system, the fingerprint reader, and a numeric keypad beside the keyboard.  Which one should I have selected to avoid this problem?

The password manager download page says it supports all Thinkpads. It didn't explain that it doesn't actually support the Edge properly yet.

I'm trying to get PWM to work on a Tablet 2 with WIN8 Pand IE11. PWM is not listed in IE add-ons so I can't enable it.

Any suggestions?

Re: Password manager 4 does not work

Google changed their login screen recently and my password manager 4.0 00.24 wich seems to be the latest version (even thou it's getting pretty old) doesn't seem to recognize the email field in the login screen. So it only saves the password, and upon revisiting the login screen it will try to login only with the password field, wich ofc fails.

I've seen this behaviour on other similar login screens. Like www.smartplanhq.dk where it's impossible for password manager to manage the login properly.

And another thing. When using windows remote desktop from another computer, the password manager only works 1 out of 10 times. Usually it will just make the page hang, because the window with the "enter password for password manager" doesn't show - when the fingerprint reader is obviously overruled as you are clearly not present at the machine. Usually I just end up closing it all together when i start up remote desktop to avoid the hanging of the browser. But would be cool if it could work better.

Running windows 7 64bit btw.

Hello,

I had same problem too on ThinkPad R400 7439-W1G running Win 7 32-bit, and Chrome. Solution was really simple:

"If you see any issue that Password Manager 4.3 could not recognize the fingerprint sensor in some systems.
Install the following packages: Password Manager 4.2 Patch for Lenovo Fingerprint Software 3.3.2.50 for Windows 7"

1. Install Password Manager 4.2 Patch for Lenovo Fingerprint Software 3.3.2.50 for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad

2. Reboot.

Hope this help you.

Re: Password manager 4 does not work

Have new Len 540P win 7p.  After first setup of  Password Mgr and finger print  reader, fingerprint reader appeared in Password Manager login and sucessufully opened PWM.  However, password manager did not rregister as an add-on in internet explorer 11.  So I deleted PWM and reinstalled it.  Password manager is now an add on and works fine.  However, fingerprint reader does not show up to log in to PWM, just the windows password prompt.  I have removed both PWM and fingerprint programs using control  panel and deleted and app references.  Still, fingerprint reader does not show up in PWM.  There must have been a more rrecent ver. of PWM that came with my computer that is from the LEnovo download site.  Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Have latest versions of both PWM and fingerprint reader. Ran system update. PWM still doesn't recognize fingerprint reader. Just a minor inconvience. Will wait for another update to fix problem.
