Power Manager 2.42 not retaining changes

2009-04-11, 0:22 AM

I'm running a T400 (2764CTO), Windows Ultimate 32bit with Power Manager 2.42.

When I select a profile and make changes to "Wireless adapter settings" within "Advanced Settings" and click OK or APPLY, the settings are retained for the current session; however when rebooted the setting is back to its default.

I've also created an entirely new profile "Custom" and created the settings from scratch but after rebooting the setting is always "Maximum Power Saving" rather than my preferred "Maximum Performance".

Otherwise the Power Manager acts as expected; other changes I have made have been retained (such as changes to "Dynamic Brightness Control").

I've just found further wireless power settings embedded in Access Connections (after reading http://forum.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=T_Series_Thinkpads&message.id=18457).  Each of my AC profiles with WIFI settings had power savings set as default.

I have changed these to "maximise performance"; will do further testing.

Are you running the acct as admin or normal user? I think my power manager sometimes gets confused, too, when i switch between my Admin and User acct. Other than that it keeps my profiles and settings. I think after bios updates some settings get reset, as well, like the fan controls.

I'm running as Administrator.

I've recently updated my BIOS so will check on next reboot.

Previous suggested solutions had no affect.  Upgrading to 2.43 seems to have solved the problem initially but after rebooting the power saving settings for the wireless are always defaulting to "maximise power saving".

Is it possible that this has something to do with BIOS setting?
