Rescue and Recovery Tool

2012-05-17, 15:51 PM

I installed and tried the ThinkPad rescue and recovery tool. It took a while and it appears to have created a backup somewhere on the primary partition. I notice the used space is quite a bit larger and not other partition contains data.

I have not used it before nor familiar with it but viewing a video it suppose to be the greatest thing for Thinkpads and when launched with the BLUE Thinkvantage button. Wizards of massive abilities can rescue me from the most dire situations.

Any input would be appreciated since I don't want to wait for a major problem to realize its smoke and mirrors and no better than me doing a TrueImage (Acronis) backup to a separate partition.

In the least is there a document detailing what it does and how it should be used. I don't really want to push that button and experiment. At least not at this time.
