Re: Runaway memory usage in Access Connections AcSvc.exe

2008-09-07, 9:05 AM

5.02 is working a lot better for me, too.  AcSvc is sitting at 12mb (after 72 hours, with lots of network and location switching), and the setupapi.app.log is steady at 3 mb.  I'm using an R61, 3gb, Vista Ultimate SP1, with intel drivers 11.5.1.15.

 T61p  with vista ultimate here.

I'm using the 5.02  and the leakage seemed to be still there although its slower... but even after a reboot all the processes and services for Access Connections draws  alot of memory...

250 mb of ram after a reboot just for the AcSvc.exe process alone and that doesn't include the 5 or so other process associated with Access connections.

just take a look at your processes in the Task Manager and see how many are related to Access Connections.

Re: Runaway memory usage in Access Connections AcSvc.exe on Windows Vista (SP1).

I'm having the same problems with 5.02 as i did with the previous version. On startup, the AcSvc.exe takes up 185mb, same when the service is restarted. If i leave my computer for a day or so, it will increase to (on average) 300-400mb (never as high as 2gb as other people have reported)

My Laptop is Lenovo T60, 2gb RAM, Vista SP1 x64, Intel 3945ABG, Bluetooth (rarely used), WWAN (Sierra Wireless MC8755) (Never Used).

I have a 5 WLAN Profiles

  • 2x WPA EAP
  • 1 Hidden WLAN
  • 1x WPA-PSK
  • 1xOpen (for Hotels etc)

I'm courious as to how many other people (who are having these problems) are using profiles with either Hidden SSIDs or Enterprise style WPA..

Brent

I just installed AC v5.02 for Vista (32-bit) this morning.  It initially ran around 100MB for a couple hours...now, about 4 hours later, it is down to 4MB.  I'll report back later tonight.

I'm using an x60 (non-tablet).

Re: Runaway memory usage in Access Connections AcSvc.exe on Windows Vista (SP1).

Hi all,

I mainly see CPU utilization issues with acsvc.exe of Access Connections 5.02 (XP SP3).

On the T60 of my wife acsvc.exe sporadically switches into a mode of high CPU load (100% of one core -> 50% in total) using up the battery and heating up the laptop until the process gets terminated. It's Windows XP SP3.

I already tried a complete reinstall, incl. removing the profiles, but the problem persists.

On my T61p - also XP SP3 - I didn't notice any problem so far ...

Thanks,

Alex

My T61 always shows around 140mb-150mb. Looks ok, but realy affect the cpu/fan temperature. I can feel the difference (putting my fingers on the fan outlet) after i kill the AcSvc.exe from task manager. This means it affect cpu's performance.

I think the issue is still not entirely solved.

Looking forward for another update.......

Re: Runaway memory usage in Access Connections AcSvc.exe on Windows Vista (SP1).

I also experience that AcSVC.exe uses 50% CPU (100% on one core) all the time. I'm on version 4.41 right now, but have tried several other versions, including the newest one and all have the problem. Im running XP PRO SP2.

I think this is something that needs to be addressed. I realize now that that must be the reason that the battery time on my T61 is so much lower than expecte.

Please help, Lenovo.

50% CPU usage with AcSVC.exe

2008-11-19, 15:16 PM

I experience the issue of 50% CPU usage (100% on one core) by ACSVC.exe. I'm running XP PRO SP2 and Access Connections 4.41 on my T61, but have tried all later versions of AC with the same result.

Is somebody working on a fix for this issue?

hello this seems to be  a known problem from the other posts as well

if you donnot have any use of acess connections you might un-install it for the time being
