Fusch, I am guessing that you just happened to connect for other reasons, possibly on the Lenovo side, because your comments about AULauncher.exe and tvsu.exe are not correct. The fact is that both AULauncher.exe and tvsu.exe are nothing more than launchers that run the processes tvsucommandlauncher.exe and tvsukernel.exe. They do not run any updating in and of themselves. The end result is the same processes start with either launcher.

Seems that its back up and running again - just ran it on my own T61 and an older T43 and it's performing updates - yay!

Just and update, it does appear that they did do something on their end as I ran it on a 43 last night without any issues.  I then tested on a 61 and again ran it on the 43 this morning, both without any issues!

Mine is also now working now without any changes made on my end either. Spo0ofer, your call to them yesterday probably got them to fix it..Thanks a bunch.

This was clearly on Lenovo's end this time, but that said, I still believe that there have been times in the past where both my fix (.NET version 2) and ollie's fix (removing the read-only on the C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\session directory) may still have been applicable.

Wow, i am getting farther today!  I can now get to 34% before i get an error.  Here is the error.

Error 92 received from the Package Index Server.  Please contact the Support Center.

Anyone else getting this today?  I am betting it is because the server is too busy now that it is fixed.

If you are getting this just keep plugging away, as it is not your PC that is the problem, it will work eventually.  It did for me finally! :smileyvery-happy:

Agreed, it appears to work again.

I did follow the suggestion mentioned above to "Un-Read Only" the System Update folder and use Active Update to launch, but it's working right now - 600MB of updates - I haven't run any in a LONG time :-)

Thanks a lot to the guy who called them!!!

It's really disappointing to have such a great product be supported this badly :-(

It was REALLY slow, and I thought it was going to fail, but it did just work for me. I bet they are having issues on their end again.

Have any of you also upgraded to teh new 3.0 version?  I like the fact that I can now change priorities, reboot options, license view and os but I DO NOT like the fact that I cannot cahnge the windows size!!!  You can also now create your OWN update package with it.  Very nice!

I think you might be looking at Update Retriever, which is a different program. It just downloads the updates to a location on your network which you can point your System Update clients to. I agree, though, it's pretty handy.
