Thinkvantage Password Manager add-in for Firefox web browser has stopped working

2015-12-21, 6:52 AM

Firefox updated their web browder to version 43 as few days ago. The new version says it is disallowing add-ins that aren't 'signed'. As a result, the Thinkvantage Password Manager app for Firefox has stopped working as the new Firefox disables it. Lenovo has to update this app by having it properly 'signed' with Firefox to work.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know with Lenovo will fix this? Lenovo!! Please fix this and get this app working again on the current version of Firefox.

I currently use Windows 7. Thanks.

There are two options i know to solve this:

1. The best way - downgrade firefox to 42.0 here

2. The second option worked for me for 2-3 days and than i had to downgrade, but if u want to try- in the Firefox URL bar,  type "about:config" and than search for "xpinstall.signatures.required" - double click on it (it will change it from true to false).

Hope it helps

:)

I installed password manager 4.7, plus enabled unsigned add-ins in firefox trough about:config. (Also suggested by Paul Dak) This is working without any problem.

I prefer not to "fudge it" this way. It should work normally, the way it is supposed to.

Both the Thinkvantage Password Manager addin and the Yahoo Toolbar addin are now not working for me ever since Firefox made their ***update***. What a pain.

Does anyone know when this problem will be fixed. Been quite awhile now and the Thinkvantage password manager addin still is not working. It looks like the Yahoo Toolbar problem got fixed recently..but the password manager still is not.

Anyone know when this will be fixed? thanks.

Same here. Please fix this Add-on!

Don't want to mess around with downgrades etc.

Thanks!

Same problem here (but did the "about:config" fix before and still works) - Mozilla will not allow unsigned extensions to be installed, with no override.in Firefox 44, so the "about:config fix" won't work anymore at the end of January.

And by the way - Thinkvantage Password Manager add-on doesn't work in  the official 64bit Firefox - Chrome supports the TVPM for both versions (32/64bit).

HURRY UP, LENOVO AND PLEASE SIGN YOUR ADD-ON AND ADD SUPPORT FOR 64bit FIREFOX!!!!

Same problem (Thinkvantage Password Manager add-in could not be verified for use in Firefox...) here with Firefox 43.0.4 x64 version.

Lenovo pls speed up this update to support x64 version.

Tomaz.
