Recently, whenever I launch "lenovo Companion" and choose "system update", the "critical auto-updates" (under schedule lenovo updates) runs forever and never come to an end!
This has never happened before and it seems to have something to do with your recent sysyem down or configuration change.

A known issue. Use the windows store for latest Companion version.
Use SIF download from Companion offering, not SIF10ww512.exe on the support page.
Best solution: Discard Companion and install the latest System update.
systemupdate5-07-0027.exe. Companion, LSC new have soooo many issues.
If the support site, which is waxed for a few days, functions.

Companion is using a database for updates, probably a SU database, that is not shown on System update.
Companion is using a SU plug in.
I am not saying SU supports a YOGA. I am saying Companion has many issues that still exist.
If you state your OS and model, I can determine if a SU catalog is around for your system, and not useable via system update.
Bottom line: Companion loops for you. I suggested windows store to update companion and to use the companion SIF download(jan 2016) and NOT sif from the download page(Nov 2015).
This is confusing, yes. yoga=su=NOT. yoga=companion su =yes.

tried tp reinstall Lenovo Companion and the problem is still there.
I probably turned "auto critial-updates" on and now I don't even have a chance turn it off because the update runs forever!
Worst software quality I have ever seen!
