I ran Lenovo updates on my Thinkpad Edge e530 this weekend. Message Center Plus not says there are 20301 messages but when I open, it say no messages. I tried to uninstall but get an error that the log file cannot be found. How do I fix or delete?

I was recently prompted to install Lenovo Message Center Plus on my x240. I installed it and in the notification icon on the task bar it said that there was 20301 unread messages! :/ That's a lot! When opening the message center however, it said, 'no messages' . But on the notification icon, it kept showing '!' and stating that there was 20301 messages. I uninstalled Lenovo Message Center Plus again, and reinstalled it from the Lenovo Support website. The same problems remains: It says that I have 20301 unread messages in the icon in the task bar, but when I open the program, it says there are no messages. Also 20301 messages (20k+!!) in a newly installed program is insane! I would love for someone from Lenovo to state that they are working on a fix! Thank God it's not actually loading those 20301 messages. So in short: I have exactly the same problem as the OP here on my x240.

I just got the update notice today for my M83 and had the same result. I uninstalled it and downloaded a fresh copy of version 3.2.0004.00 from here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds000885
Had the same problem. Every time I boot the system, I get this error:

Yeah, there is no problem with just uninstalling it. It isn't an essential program needed for Win7 to operate.
What I don't understand is why we were presented with the program update notification in the first place. If you go to the download page I put in my first post and look at the release date (4/18/2013), it's over a year old. Why did we even get an update notification?!?
I think the update was sent out in error, perhaps not even intended for the M83.
The other thing I don't understand is why after uninstalling the crashing update, rebooting and then manually downloading and installing the current version (3.2) do I still get the same 20,000+ messages, that aren't really there, and the program still crashes on every boot? I would think that a clean install of a year-old program would work.
Hopefully, someone from Lenovo will respond soon. (I know it's the weekend) ![]()
