My password manager version does not pop-up, does not ask for new login entries
and for web shortcuts, password manager opens the web page but does not feed the info.
I have used long time the older versions of Password manager; but not the version 4.
Password manager version is 4.00 Build 0024.00, Operating system win 7 64-bit, default browser IE 9
Thank you in advance.

In my case whenever I open Password Manager or otherwise try to use it, a password screen pops up that says:
Password Manager is requesting authentication
Type your Windows password:
It doesn't give me a chance to swipe my finger, and ignores it if I do anyway. (The password works, but that's not the point, I want fingerprint access to my passwords and secure notes)
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, brand new Lenovo Edge 530. I tried using the Fingerprint Reader that was pre-installed, but I decided to download Password Manager 4 (build 24) in addition, because the interface seemed more useful than the over-simplified Fingerprint Reader. I didn't disable Fingerprint Reader except I did deselect QuickLaunch and Website options, after installing Password Manager 4. I left Fast User Switching enabled. When I open Fingerprint Reader it functions correctly (asks me to swipe my fingerprint, and then recognizes it and continues).
How do I get Password Manager to recognize my fingerprint?

You mentioned updating Password Manager, did you also update the Fingerprint Reader software? I have the latest versions of both Fingerprint Reader and Password Manager and my swipe logged me in to Power Manager without typing the password. It actually prompts me for a fingerprint swipe rather than a password. I am running a T530 with Windows 7 64 bit and as I mentioned, with the latest of both Password Manager and Fingerprint Reader.
I hope that helps,

I think password manager browse plug-in is disabled in IE 9.0 for your case.
You could manually enable it from IE settings.
Go to IE Settings->Programs tabpage->Manage Add-ons
Click Button "Manage add-ons" and enable "LePasswordManagerHelper Class" and "Lenovo Password Manager...".
Also if there is a fingeprint reader in the system. Please upgrade it to the latest version in the web.

I have run System Update and installed everything there, and there's nothing left to download.
I just downloaded Authentec (lr3f25a2 64.exe) and installed it, and there's no change. Password Manager 4 still requires a windows password before it will supply my web passwords, and doesn't ask for a fingerprint.
I'm using Chrome, but I get the same results in IE9. I did check there, and both IEPasswordManagerHelperClass and Lenovo Password Manager... were enabled already.
I don't think the problem is getting the browser to trigger Password Manager 4, because it does pop up when I get to a web password page. The problem is that Password Manager 4 pops up an Enter Your Password screen instead of a Swipe your Finger screen. How do I get Password Manager 4 to ask for a fingerprint swipe?

Something is amiss, I would completely uninstall both Password Manager and Fingerprinter reader and reinstall each as a fresh install. As I mentioned yesterday, I installed both on a T530 and after setting up a fingerprint, opening Password Manager prompted me to swipe in place of the password. Here are the links to download each program:

OK. That was a little strange. I uninstalled both Password Manager and Authentec, using the Control panel. When uninstalling Authentec, it asked if I wanted to delete my identity, and I confirmed to delete it. Then I rebooted. It let me swipe to log in to windows. I installed Authentec from the file at the page directed, then rebooted, and again it let me swipe to log in. Then I reinstalled Password Manager, and rebooted again.
Then I went to open Password Manager and it required me to type my Windows Password. When it opened all of my passwords were already in the database. Uninstalling didn't seem to actually remove the data, and reinstalling didn't fix anything. However, Authentec seems to have been reset slightly. It doesn't have any of my passwords, and features I disabled are re-enabled (like website submission and quicklaunch. Two websites I registered with it are gone, and icons I deleted are back. However, my fingerprint registration is still there, and it still works to load me into Windows.
So if uninstalling via Control Panel Programs didn't do much, how do I actually uninstall them?

Search all the folder the all named "password Manager" and delete them after you uninstall it.
Especially the folder in %USERNAME%\Appdata\Roaming\Lenovo\Password Manager
Also delete the registry key "HKLM\Software\Lenovo\Password Manager"
And "HKCU\Software\Lenovo\Password Manager"
And then re-install the password Manager.

I deleted my biometric data, uninstalled Authentec, uninstalled Password Manager 4, then deleted Appdata\Roaming\Lenovo\Password Manager. Then I opened RegEdit and deleted Password Manager keys from both the Local Machine and Current User \Software\Lenovo\ locations.
I rebooted after each step, as prompted.
Then I reinstalled Authentec, but did not open it. I reinstalled password manager. I reconfigured password manager, and loaded my passwords from a password viewer file. Then I opened Authentec and registered my fingerprint.
Then I opened Password Manager again, and it asked me for my windows password again. When I swiped my finger, it gave me a black screen full of icons with the message "Just start typing to search!", but most of the icons are not for places I go. When I hit cancel, the Password Manager is still waiting for my Windows password. It STILL didn't notice the finger swipe.
Why doesn't Password Manager 4 find my fingerprint reader, even when I keep uninstalling and reinstalling?
Is there a problem with the Edge 530 not supporting Password Manager 4?
