Restore and Recovery

Hi,

I attempted to restore my R61i laptop via the blue thinkvantage button. I follow the instructions to complete a full factory restall and upon the final reboot recive the following message.

Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation

I did the whole process again and was returned with the above error.

What do I do from here to eliminate this problem.

Thanks in advance

Re: Restore and Recovery

If you didn't burn recovery disks, you might have to order them from Lenovo support. If your R61 is still in warranty, they should waive the approx US $50 shipping charge.

The recovery disks basically create a new R&R partition and then do the factory reset from there. So if you are keeping your R61i this  might be a good time to consider upgrading to a larger hard disk.
