Hi,
after each system update my lenovo maschine model ('7743P8G') always gets resetted in the win xp registry ('TP-7L___')
(keys: HKEY_Local_Maschine\Hardware\ACPI\DSDT\Lenovo and HKEY_Local_Maschine\Hardware\ACPI\RSDT\Lenovo).
The right maschine model no. is required to perfom a next valid system update (evaluating which items are necessary). Currently I am always updating the registry manually. But this is not the way, it's meant to be. Is it?
Thx for any advice

Hi,
do I understand it correctly, that you can not use TVSU, because it is showing different MTM, then your machine is using?
The basic of TVSU is that it first reads the SMBIOS and get all the informations from there.
In case you see diferent MTM in TVSU, then it realy is written on your machine start into BIOS and check, if there is the correct MTM listed.

Hi,
if both registry keys are bogey, system update quits with Error 75 and stops update procedure.
But if I manually set both keys to '7743P8G', which is my correct maschine model, TVSU works properly. Happened just yesterday again ...
When googleing about 'error 75 lenovo' my guess is you get dozens of results.
Any hints to fix that?
Cheers

Hi,
I'm currently using version: 3.14.0024
But anyway. I experiance this behaviour since months ... Even updates of TVUS do not fix this bug.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I have the same problem. A dirty workaround is to set the registry entry with the startup (autostart).
At my notebook the problem occurs after the mainboard was exchanged. I suppose the new bios do not carry any model number, especially not the correct one, and I cannot set the model number per bios update.
The bios revision is treated as model number and causes the error in TVUS.

Erik

Hi Erik,
I haven't thought of it ... But im my case I also had to exchange my mainbord due to a USB hardware failure.
Maybe this is the clue. What can lenovo say to that? What is the connection between new mainboard and TVSU?
Cheers

Hi,
TVSU is reading the content of the SMBIOS and based on that he detects what is the MTM number of your system.
Could you check in BIOS, what is the MTM in there?

Hi Herik,
my BIOS Version is 7LETA7WW (2.07, date 12/06/2007). The system serial board no. is VF1GH81M10D. I guess, this should be the MTM, right? Any other information are not availabe.
The original mainboard was exchanged by an authorized lenovo support agent/dealer.
Any help for you?
Regards

Hi,
what I wanted to check is basically whether the MTM "7743P8G" is listed also when you enter BIOS.
Check if you can see it in BIOS, becasue the VF.... number is not MTM. Sorry I noticed that you entered the MTM in your first update ![]()
Please also check following reg key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lenovo\System Update\Preferences\UCSettings\RunTime]
in this key should be also a key called "MTM" that should also contain your correct MTM.
Let me know, if by both these places you can see the MTM "7743P8G"
