I'm running Windows 10 and when I try to do a system update I get a message that the download fails.
I've included the log file for reference

Thanks, I subsequently found another post to that effect as well. You'd think they would intercept that and just put up a message that it's not supported. Not that tough to code The utility does show up in the software for the Yoga 2 Pro just to add insult to injury. Thanks again.

Could you pull up your support page and post the link here?
I want to check for TVSU entry.
What is your machines model number?

I went to the web page for support and there are no entries for the system update utility. So either I downloaded it and it installed successfully (i.e. but didn't tell me that it wasn't supported on that model) from a standalone link, or it was carried over in another package. Either way, I don't have a trail to provide how it got there.

If you run out of things to read today, read this post:
P.S >do not try to install Lenovo Solution Center on your NOTEBOOK.

My Thinkpad X250's System Update history shows it has no installed an update since May 2017. Yet when I ask it to check for updates it say there are no updates available. I have used System Update for 10 years on a variety of X Thinkpads, and so I'm very familiar with how things should be. I also tried the web page https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ca/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-..., but that didn't work either: I got this message: "System Update (TVSU) is failed to upgrade to the latest version." So I manually installed the lastest System Update (version 5.07), but all the above symptoms remain. Help!

The support page check for updates, calls TVSU. If you get Update, failed, you should manually install TVSU to clear this message.
When you uninstall TVSU you will see this screen:
If you reply YES to this screen, your HISTORY record is deleted. Thus any new SU install will show no history. Thus ignore the SU view history tab.
I do see updates on your support page. Most of them are Nov 2017(chipset), Dec 2017(camera,Lan) and Feb 2018(Ultra Nav).
When Lenovo moves these newer updates to your SU catalog, you should see new updates via TVSU.
If you manually installed any older/newer updates or windows update installed these older/newer updates, TVSU will not offer the update.
