I have a T61p with Vista Home Premium that was recently updated by the ThinkVantage update process. Upon reboot, I now get the error "ThinkVantage Access Connections GUI helper module has stopped working." The updated Access Connection program (with the new interface) appears to be working. I have downloaded and reinstalled the ThinkVantage Access Connections (dated 8/22/2008, v5.02). However, the error remains.
Any assistance is appreciated!

Well at least I'm not going crazy. This error is becoming annoying. Tonight, I noticed that turning off the radio and then selecting a profile to connect to (which re-enables the radio) resulted in the same error.
Thanks for the prompt response!

Also the same on my T61. Tried uninstalling AC and did a clean install, but still no joy...
The Eventlog gives the following:
Faulting application SvcGuiHlpr.exe, version 5.0.2.0, time stamp 0x4899107c, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a7a6, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0003cfb8, process id 0x1238, application start time 0x01c914aed661974b.

same issue here.... it started to happen only after the AC v 5.0.2 upgrade (Vista Ultimate SP1).
definitely a serious bug. probably best to revert to the old 4.x version for the people running Vista

Update:
Some friends of mine also updated to the new 5.0 version of AC and do not have that error.
Strange. Maybe its a compatibility issue with the new n-WLAN Adapter or the UMTS Module. Dont know...

downgrading could not be the solution at all. rather lenovo should fix this bug ASAP.
given the fairly established fact that the speed of bug fixing is unfortunately not as fast as many of us want or expect... in the meantime the only plausibile alternative is to revert to an old working AC version.
