Update of Lenovo Solution Center 3.3.004 to 3.4.002 (How to install it on Windows 10????)

Friends from Lenovo,

I just need to ask you a simple question.

I tried to update the Lenovo Solution Center application of my notebook Lenovo ThinkPad X220 (from version 3.3.004 to version 3.4.002), and it appears a message saying the OS is not the right one of the application.

  1. Could you please tell me which version of Windows 10 do I need to have installed on my notebook (currently I have the version 1607, build 14393.576) to install the latest version of the Lenovo Solution Center application?
  2. Could you please tell me if the Lenovo Security Center 3.4.002 is designed for the new update of Windows 10, called Windows 10 Creators Update, that will be release next year?????

I already updated the BIOS of my notebook and I also updated the Lenovo Settings Dependency to see if that helps to install the new version of the Lenovo Security Center. Nonetheless, I still receive a message saying the OS I have is not the right one for the application.

Therefore, if any Lenovo technician could get in contact with me, to solve this small issue, I`ll be really grateful.

Thanks a lot,

Cristián Palau

Re: Update of Lenovo Solution Center 3.3.004 to 3.4.002

Did you experience this screen?  If so,try the self update again.  A server issue exists.

3rd try worked for me.

The problem with updating LSC from version 3.3.004 to 3.4.002. Windows 10 64 bit.

Can not update the program LSC from version 3.3.004 to the newest version 3.4.002 - wirth the message from the installer :

"The operating system is not adequate for running Lenovo Solution center"

This error ID 10005 is also listed in the Event Viewer - Msilnstaller"

The current version is working properly, the newest version has been found automatically when opened LSC.

How to fix this issue to install the update ?

Would appreciate some advices.

Re: Update of Lenovo Solution Center 3.3.004 to 3.4.002

He Sclexman,

I am trying to update LSC from the version 3.3.004 to the version 3.4.002  in my laptop with Windows 8.1 and the computer with Windows 10 since 17th Dec. After several trials there is either the error as in your screen shot or if the file is dowsnloaded the installation can not be completed with the error :

"The operating system is not adequate for running Lenovo Solution center"

Is this a Lenovo server issue ?

How to fix it ?

Best regards,

EWA2

Re: Update of Lenovo Solution Center 3.3.004 to 3.4.002

I see 2 different issues.  Could you locate install log lscinstall.log and attach it?

It is located in c\users\*yourid*\appdata\local\temp\lscinstall.log.

To attach, use the Browse button below the respond panel. It is on the same line as "cancel post" left side.

If your win10 system was an UPGRADE in place, I would uninstall LSC, download the old version from your support page and see what the self update does.

Re: Update of Lenovo Solution Center 3.3.004 to 3.4.002

Mr. sclexman,

As you told me, I uninstalled the Lenovo Solution Center and then I reinstalled it into my notebook Lenovo ThinkPad X220, but so far, I cannot be able to install the new version (3.4.002) and now I have the 3.3.003 version (previosly I had the 3.3.004 version).

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

UPDATE: After I reinstalled the old version of the Lenovo Solution Center, the program showed the new update, which I already installed and now I have the Lenovo Solution Center 3.4.002 installed into my ThinkPad X220 notebook. THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Yours truly,

Cristián Palau

Feliz Navidad.

It sounds like you had both issues. Maybe Lenovo corrected something?

Re: Update of Lenovo Solution Center 3.3.004 to 3.4.002

Hi Sclexman,

Thanks for your attention and reply.

Today have tried again to install LSC update in my laptop with Windows 8.1 with the error as before - below screenshot.

Zrzut ekranu (8).png

Below is also the link for the file lscinstall.log in OneDrive :

Shall I unistall LSC and then install again but only the version 3.3.003 which is available (the current 3.3.004 can not find on Lenovo Support), so after it should be updated to the newest

3.4.002 without problem as somebody from this discussion has already done ?

Thanks and best regards,

Ewa

Re: Update of Lenovo Solution Center 3.3.004 to 3.4.002

LSC 3.3.003 used to self update to 3.3.004.  It now self updates to 3.4.002.

On your win 8.1 system, the failure point is here:

MSI (c) (10:8C) [18:30:12:847]: Doing action: LaunchConditions
Action 18:30:12: LaunchConditions. Evaluating launch conditions
Action start 18:30:12: LaunchConditions.
Info 2898.For Tahoma8 textstyle, the system created a 'Tahoma' font, in 0 character set.
The operating system is not adequate for running Lenovo Solution Center.
MSI (c) (10:8C) [18:30:19:233]: Product: Lenovo Solution Center -- The operating system is not adequate for running Lenovo Solution Center.

Action ended 18:30:19: LaunchConditions. Return value 3.

My 3.3.003 install has Launch Conditions return value 1.  I have no idea what routine launchconditions is checking.

It self updates to 3.4.002.

To isolate the issue, download 3.3.003 and see if it installs on your win 8.1 system or bombs out...OS is not adequate.  If 3.3.003 installs let is self update.

On a fresh 3.3.003 install, you may have to launch LSC several times before it offers the self update.
