Vantage has encountered a problem Windows 1809

I have a P52 running Windows 10 (1809) and Lenovo Vantage will not run at all. I have installed the SystemInterfaceFoundation driver. But everytime I start it, I get the screen  "Vantage has encountered a problem".   I uninstalled the SIF driver, rebooted, reinstalled but still no luck. There are no related error messages in the Event Log.

 

Any ideas ?

Please check these things:

1.  Run Device Manager, do you see "System Interface Foundation V2 Device" in the "System Devices" category?

2.  Run services.msc, do you see "System Interface Foundation Service" and is it running?

I have this problem to.  Uninstalled the package and reinstalled via the Lenovo website but still no joy.  Looks like Windows 10 update has broken it?

The answer to questions 1. & 2. in my case is yes, it is there and it is running.  Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 3.  Same situation after windows update today.

Same issue after Oct update/1809. Lenovo Yoga 3 (core m).

However, Vantage in Lenovo 510s & S20-30 are ok.

Yes, the device driver is there in DevMgr and the service is Running.

 

As I mentioned, I uninstalled the device and reinstalled it and it still fails.

Can someone please zip up and share the Vantage logs, and provide the screenshot of the error you see in Vantage?

 

They are located at the following location (you can copy-and-paste this into File Explorer):

%localappdata%\Packages\E046963F.LenovoCompanion_k1h2ywk1493x8\LocalState\Logs

 

Please zip up everything in this folder, include the screenshot of what you see in Vantage, and share it here.  Thanks!

According to the logs, the problem is "IMC not responding".  IMC refers to the System Interface Foundation service.  I can reproduce the "Vantage has Encountered a Problem" screen when I manually stop the System Interface Foundation Service.  But as long as this service is running, Vantage is working well for me.  I need to talk to a System Interface Foundation guy to figure out what the next steps are for further debugging.  Please wait a bit.
