I am trying to install Rescue and Recovery. I now have ver. 3. whatever and it's not working too good. It's kind of buggy When I open it and try and do a back up. WINDOWS XP says there is a problem and shuts it down. Although it still seems to run in the background. I would like to either reload ver. 3 or upgrade to a newer version of R&R. this version seems corupted in some fashion.
When I go to Add & Remove programs to do the uninstall I get the following message from Windows Installer : "The installed product does not match the installation source. Until a matching source or the installed product are sychronized, this action can not be proformed."
"Contact your product vendor for assistance. If there is a matching installation source, type it below or click Browse to locate it."
Anyone have any thoughts on this or is it time to call Lenovo?

lars mjs, welcome to the forum,
I merged the threads in order to keep everything together.
Just an idea, maybe worth trying;
If I remember correctly on the R51, (don't know which system mjs has), the R&R was one package which included Client Security. I'm wondering if it is possible to run the original setup in order to repair the current version? The original install folder should be in C:\IBMTOOLS \APPS or DRIVERS, it should be called "RNR..."

Have you tried uninstalling the Clent Security software first and then the R&R software?
If using Private Disk or any other feature in CSS be sure to disable these features and backup files beforehand to ensure access afterwards.

i cannot deinstall client securitity only
its installed together with R´N R as package under windows /software.
i have the feeling that the windows installer
(that mysterious msi.file) may be somehow corrupt
or changed after serv pack 2 installation...
(but i tried also to un-install serv pack 2..
after done that .. same problem)
can i repair this msi.file or get it somehow at lenovo ?
