Re: QUENCH: Upgrade to Android 2.1 for non US users

2010-08-26, 12:09 PM

Good morning everyone,

@cittadela: you're a lucky guy. When I talked to them, they didn't know what Quench was. They just knew MB501. Now, what will they think if we ask them about Android? That we should have called LucasArts support line?

@LGCONTI: well, I really believe Mark is trying. The problem is that no one knows even inside Motorola. Weird stuff taking so much time for an answer. Probably they're trying to hire someone that knows how to do it. Who knows, huh? But, as you said, a definitive answer would be good, even if I know that if it's a no, we'll start annoying them to get it (we will, won't we?). #MOTOFAIL

@Mark: please understand that I recognize your efforts in helping us. Just try to understand how we feel as customers. It sucks. And I know that if we stop talking about it, you'll miss us.

Guys did you see this http://info.abril.com.br/noticias/tecnologia-pessoal/usuarios-motorola-buscam-upgrade-alternativo-25082010-35.shl

So release the upgrade for us and we don't need to put hacked versions of android into our phones.

Quench will be my last phone of motorola.

Oh, God... you know... that's something that makes us feel like morons...

Nicely enough, we could call ourselves #MOTOBOBOS (for the foreigners, #MOTOFOOLS). Because that'd exactly how I feel.

Good thing I still own my 1st gen N95. Symbian sucks? Maybe. But it still has it's merits. And while Android has been a very good partner in the mobility stuff (emails and stuff like that), it's nothing that my N95 doesn't do, with a little bit of effort.

For the non-portuguese guys, it's like:

If regrets could kill, Motorola would held responsability for one of the worse slaughters in Brazil

@cittadela: good one, mate. Still I like Quench, as I said, it's helping me with lot's of stuff. I'm just pissed because I know it can do better yet.

And to avoid losing the proper timing here:

<advertisement>If you're thinking of changing your cellphone, take a look at http://www.eopreco.com.br . It's a new price comparison site I'm working on. It'd be a pleasure if you could step by and give your impressions on it. All Brazilian guys invited. We're starting still, but working hard to get more and more stores for you: Outsiders, we're coming to you soon.</advertisement>

For those that don't understand, or think google translation is not good enough, I'll try to summarize:

"Motorola is God. the customers. We don't  care for what they want. What we want is the most important thing in the world, and if they don't like it,".

@tucumano: I don't understand lots of spanish, and used the google translator, but... i think I'm pretty right, yes?

Motorola just don't care about they consumers, and the operators are together in this action, they say simply we will not give the upgrade, if you want 2.1 or 2.2 buy a new phone.

We in Brazil paid a fortune in taxes to have a obsolete phone with 2 or 3 months of use.

The solution: Boycott MOTOBOMB!!
