Re: QUENCH: Upgrade to Android 2.1 for non US users

@tucumano: wow, nice one! But... you know... feels like I've seen this phone before...

@everyone: do you believe this MIX could be of any help? (I know you know what I mean... )

@tucumano That's crazy. Motorla is lanching the same phone overseas with Android 2.1...It make no sense! How much would it cost to release a version to the other countries? Not so much I imagine, once it is ready! Some decision makers at Motorola don't deserve to be where they are...

By the way, today started the pre-release of the Android 2.1 for Cliq. For the CliqXT was delayed to anytime in Q4. The official version is arriving very soon!

Lucky koreans...

@Mark: can you confirm that Motorola MB501 (CliqXT, Quench, MIX, whatever you wanna call it...) will be a 2.1 Android in Korea? What could make us assume that Korean people are as good as US people, therefore, apart from the rest of the world?

@Pedro_Borges: come on, man... if they had a clue on what they are doing, they would be working, not taking decisions... that's how it works in most companies I've seen.

The only thing I know is that we don't have a QUENCH™ with MOTOBLUR™, we have a QUENCH™ with MOTOBRLLLLL™ from Motorola™!

Easy, Samsung... they provide alot of hardware components.  You ever wonder why Apple hasn't sued Samsung for the iOS copycat?

"Be nice to the Koreans, or no Samsung support for you!"

That's a shame for a big company like Motorola... But it's ok, this will be my last Motorola Phone anyway.

I don't see any reason to keep buying phones from a company that don't mind with their customers.

SAD.

It's ashame that a phone that has out for less than a year is already being killed by Motorola.  Google already did all the work for Motorola by creating Android 2.2, but it looks like Motorola still refuses to upgrade the Quench (even though the CLIQ XT, which is the exact same phone with MOTOBLUR, is being upgraded).  If you look at the link below you can see that we are quickly being left behind by Motorola - over 90% of Android phones have been upgraded from Android 1.5.  That means our phones, which we just bought a few months ago, are already obsolete, left in the bottom 10% of all Android phones.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Android_os_distribution_oct_10.png

It looks like Motorola wants to sell a phone once, and never have the same customer come back.  Instead, we will go to other companies like HTC, Samsung, etc, who do keep their OS up to date.  What a great business model Motorola!

For the Brasilians, take a look on this link, very interesting.

For all,

In the basic model, 2.2, this is a real company.

For the Brasilians, lets pray for the next four year. Too early for an impeachment?!

Great holiday for all.

@LGCONTI

Yo, man!! Again, long time no see! How r u doing?

Well, I saw this some time before, but didn't pay that much attention. Again, I'm starting to take a look at WP7 capabilities, surely not from motorola. But it's nice to see at least a company that understand the concept behind Android (or, at least, how we see it, maybe).

About your final comment: although I don't feel this is the right place to discuss politics, and I  must say I'm sorry for anyone that doesn't agree with my opinion (and this is all that it is: MY OPINION!), I too pray for what our country will become. More and more, I feel things are getting worse, even if they want to sell a different idea. Too early? I don't know. But we are probably 7,5 years late on the other impeachment we should have done. Now, all we can hope for is that our constitution don't get changed to allow things to be made like an enormous dictatorship state.
