It´s not an Android 2.1 upgrade. The update on Brazil´s Motorola Site is a patch to correct problems to config APN´s other than TIM. It´s still Android 1.5.

@Fabio

Yes it very well could be. There are a variety of home screen applications out there, some of which could possibly affect the phone in this way. If you start to experience something it's best to remove downloaded items until the bug goes away so you can eliminate what is causing the issue

@André This update also keeps the version of Android 1.5, I believe, I expect an update to OS 2.1.

Best Regards

Eduardo

So.. I've heard here about an update for QUENCH in Brazil via Motorola website.

I've gone there and checked for an update via Motorola Sofware Update and it found an update:

From Blur_Version.0.12.183.MB501.TIM.en.BR

To Blur_Version.0.12.196.MB501.TIM.en.BR

I proceeded with update, everything is fine except my camera don't work anymore!

The error in portuguese: "O aplicativo Câmera (processo com.motorola.camera) parou inesperadamente. Tente novamente."

In english, something like: "The Camera app (process com.motorola.camera) stopped unexpectedly. Try again."

I tried a Hard Reset and the error persists.

try to debug with logcat: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html#logcat

Don't forget to enable log.redirect-stdio.

epinter, thanks for your tip.

I created another discussion for my problem.

I found these lines suspicious in my log, if you can help there:

--------

07-13 11:55:33.221    53   890 E MOT_ISE : R0[0x 0 0]
07-13 11:55:33.221    53   890 E MOT_ISE : I2C transaction failure errno = 5
07-13 11:55:33.231    53   890 E MOT_ISE : I2C I2C Device Transaction Failed.
07-13 11:55:33.231    53   890 E MOT_ISE : ISE_detect_imager returned failure 7
07-13 11:55:33.231    53    95 E QualcommCameraHardware: thread failed to start
07-13 11:55:33.261    53   131 E CameraService: mHardware is NULL (getParameters), returning.

--------

This is the thread:

https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/32254

Maybe it's a hardware problem?? (I don't wanna believe this)

Tks

Hello Mark,

I just bought a Motorola Quench cell phone a few days ago, and I am still waiting to receive it. But this is a real concern of mine; will Motorola upgrade the Android to version 2.2?

It will be a real "COLD shower" if Motorola doesn't make the last version available to the Motorola Quench users.

I found this forum an amazing way to make Motorola closer to the end users, an open channel that really works. I read all others posts, and I could verify that you have been our internal speaker.

So please, don't make our comments go away without any attention; we are representing great part of the end users around the world that are expecting from Motorola an after sale support that will make us rely more and more in the company.

I hope you can bring some good news in the very near future.

Thank you,

LG
