Looks like a good news, but until I have it installed on my Quench, no news is good news. hehe

Please, let us know when it is ready for us.

Thank you,

Hey guys. I would like to tell you that I'm using the --ROM Reference removed-- Android 2.1.- Motorola CliqXT And Quench ROM and it is working pretty well!

My hardware and software experience is grate!

And the best is that this ROM doesn't use MotoBLUR! So it is very fast! Also did an overclock, and even Angry Birds is playable (not very fast, it is true, but you can play!)

There are several custom ROMs with Andorid 2.1 for Quench and they are all working very well. You guys should try!

I don't need to wait for this T-Mobile version anymore!

Live Wallpapers, Google GPS Navigator, Swype, Angry Birds and much more! They are al working! The ROM developed by --ROM Reference removed-- is pretty nice too, and you can make it look like Froyo (my ROM also looks like it).

Have fun!

Hi @LGCONTI.

Everything is working fine. There ares some small issues still to be solved, but are minor and don't compromise the whole system. You should try.

And you always can go back to your older version. Thats because you will have to intall a custom recovery in your Quench. And this recovery allows you to save OS and data exactly like it was at the backup moment.

Once you you have installed --ROM Reference removed-- custom recovery, changing OS will be as simple as flash a new version to your phone.

One more feature that the ROM I am using has is APP2SD. All the applications are installed in my SD card,  not in phones's memory anymore! So I have a lot of space to install applications.

Re: QUENCH: Upgrade to Android 2.1 for non US users

I'm using quench with 2.1, I don't know if it's the same as Pedro_Borges, mine is adlxmod (search on google).

I'm using motoblur, working great.

Comparing the performance of Quench 1.5 with Quench 2.1, the 1.5 it's a complete trash... The 2.1 is very stable and responsive. (We can play 3D games!)

I have only one issue:

-After I dial, I hear directly the other side answering the phone, I don't hear the other side ringing, rarely occurs.

Some people had problems with phone rebooting (with 1.5 occured too), but there's a patch to solve this.

Wireless and 3G works very good (including wireless tether, tested with my notebook using the

phone 3g connection )

google maps with navigation  ...

The custom recovery gives you a secure option to mod you phone.

Quench it's another phone with 2.1 firmware...

Even if motorola release the 2.1 original firmware, I will not use, I will keep the version I'm using now.

If you search the modding forums, you will find a working in progress of android 2.3 (gingerbread) for cliq xt/quench. I hope soon we can have it running with no bugs.

epinter,

Mine is different of yours. My only "problem" is a "snap" sound on the speaker at the begining of a call, caused by the auto speaker on-off to solve speaker problem well known from us.

I already got the patch to solve this problem (filesnatch) but didn't installed it yet. But, as I said before, just a "snap" sound...no big deal...I can live with that to have a 2.1 Android.

This version is pretty more stable than 1.5. Some problems I had with the stock 1.5 version I don't have anymore (touch screen stopping to work, contacts getting all contacts from all social networks, etc).. And with the overclock and Launcher Pro, the system runs amazingly fast. Even when using live wallpapers...

Search for some android portal forums on Google and be happy!

This is our only solution, once Motorola abandoned us! So, don't wast more time ang go get your unofficial Android 2.1 ROM.

They have lots of work to do selling new models.

I'm with hi-end models now and I'd sure get something like the Atrix 4G if

that phone was from another brand. I'd never get another phone from Motorola

unless they give for free.

I'd take an Atrix 4 as a compensation prize by the way they got my nerves

with this updates thing.
