Re: QUENCH: Upgrade to Android 2.1 for non US users

Don´t worry guys. I´m sure that when the upgrade comes out for Cliq XT, it will  be a matter of time to someone make it work on Quench. People of the forums are much more efficient than Motorola.

By the way, have you checked out the a new phone from Samsung: I5500 Galaxy? It´s cheap, it´s small and it´s shipped with Android 2.1. It would be my choice if it was avaiable when I bought my Quench.

Marcelo-

Yes contacting your carrier(the original carrier the phone was intended to be used on) to tell them your interest in an upgrade, is suggested. The person you speak with would collect this information and pass it on. They may not necessarily know if their company has elected to do an upgrade.

Hello Mark,

good to see that you are around, at least reading our posts. But I wish you could be more present, more than just in the back stage.

Regarding the upgrade to 2.1 or 2.2 through the carrier, I already contacted them (TIM), and they said that this is Not their responsibility, and that I should get in contact with the manufacturer, in this case Motorola.

I really hope that Motorola embraces this cause, because after many years, since Motorola Startac, I now decided to get back to Motorola devices, and I wouldn't like to perceive that I took the wrong decision.

Just an additional comment, I believe that Motorola is also looking forward to be a global company, so the first step would be to treat all customers equal, and not prioritize some countries just because the Matrix resides on that country; further more because today the Matrix wouldn't survive without their branches.

Thank you for your support until now, we are counting on Motorola to make this a success history for their customers.

Hello,

Same here. TIM, on their own words, holds no responsability in the updating/upgrading process, leaving that to the manufacturer.

I had a V300 before this Quench (a Nokia N95 in between), and gave Motorola another try because I really think Quench is worth.

Please, MOTOROLA, make it a bit more worth by upgrading it's Android version.

And, let's be honest: if TIM is not good enough on their own business, imagine if they were in the Android upgrading/updating scheme... :-)

Considering the (quite nice, and it's appreciated) answer the Cliq XT users got, anything you could tell us about our little Quench?

Thanks

@Mark

Why isn't quench listed under Latin America and Mexico? Are you not even considering us? Or is it the fact that there'll be no sh!t for us?
