Re: QUENCH: Upgrade to Android 2.1 for non US users

Motorola thanks, my phone has a month and is already obsolete. I do not understand, because Motorola discriminate well with respect to updates. It made me feel more a third world person.

Hi Ticiano!

Great post, thank you for that! I´ve already twitted it.

So the noise begins... I wonder if we can reach Info magazine pages too...

If they don't do something Morotola will probably go back into coma and eventually die.

I work at an IT company and when my colleagues saw me with a brand new Quench, twenty days ago, they wanted to know all about it and if they should consider buying it... I told them to wait until I had the time to evaluate everything... Now I´ve told them NOT to buy it or any Motorola device and told them to go for a Samsumg one or, if they want something cheaper, a Chinese Excalibur or some other xing-ling with Android 2.2.

Shame on you Motoboo.

@Cittadela,

what a wonderful news ! ! ! ! !

well, I think I'm the worst scenario here.  I've bought my quench on July 21st and it broke 2 times since then.

I have used my Quench for just 5 days . . . .   even today, I don´t have it in my hands. And now, this brilliant news from Motobomba.

I remember when I showed my friends my brand new Quench :  Everybody asked me :

"Why didn't you get a Samsung Galaxy ? "

"Man... you will see what a disgrace is having a Motobomb product...... "

"Sorry, boy...  I had other Motobomba phones and I just can not believe that your Quench will be different from the other Motorola's crap phones"

So... What can I do now ?   The really bad deal has already been done. And, I'm not shame to say that I don't have money right now to buy a decent Android phone from another brand. I will have to wait a long, long time to feel happy again with my phone...I will, probably, wait for the new Samsung models enabled to run the 3.0 version. I know I will have to wait a loooong time.

that's it....

@cittadela,

I'm a registered user on PortalAndroid too.

I really believe that someone will port the 2.1 Rom for the Cliq-XT there.

What is not acceptable is the fact that we, users/customers have to wait for a "pirate" ROM version to get our phones updated...

really, really, really bad...

@srspinho

I agree with you, it's a disrespect with the consumers that trust in the company.

Funny know that the Latin America consumers, for motorola isn't important.

Mark are you in vacation? Please give us some answer.

I prefer have a pirate rom of 2.1 instead a 1.5 original fully of bugs.

@citadella, @srspinho

It's a shame what's going on.

If an alternative/generic/xing-ling ROM/OS will be needed, so be it. It really pissed me. I had enough of this silence.

So, after all this, comes the question:

@Mark: is it true? No 2.1 for us? Are you still there? Why is my phone now known as #QUENCHISAGHOSTPHONE?
