Please be sure to mention which email platform you are using, Exchange server, etc.

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

Have there been significant improvements to Exchange ActiveSync?  I currently use TouchDown and would be willing to use stock GB for awhile if there are improvements to test.

I think it will be important to see if the "Fetch Schedule" issues is corrected for pop server usage.

Matt,

How long does it take for the sync icon to go away?

Cancel that. As soon as I went into all the Accounts and checked the boxes, it went away and my email started coming in. AWESOME

Just finished install. After installation, email account did not sync. I needed to reenter my password for the Exchange server.  Seems to be taking  a while to synchronize.

The contacts interface isn't so great.

1. It now only exists as part of the phone app, so there is a bunch of stuff at the top of the screen when scrolling through contacts. I would prefer a contact screen that gives me almost all of the screen space to view contacts. There's even one bar at the top of the screen that only has three buttons on the right side, and the rest of it is empty.

2. When viewing a contact, instead of saying "Mobile" next to the mobile phone number, it now says "Call mobile". Instead of a category of addresses with one that says "Home", it now says "View home address". It looks really stupid. Simply saying "Mobile" and "Home" (or "Home Address") would be much preferred over these options that indicate what action will occur upon selection. I feel like I'm looking at a "call mobile" number instead of looking at a mobile number.

3. Date-related things are messed up. I can't even find an option to change or add them. Existing ones only display as YYYY-MM-DD, and there appears to be no option to change to something like "Aug 5, 1953". Also, one of my contacts has an anniversary that is now just a single long number: 1193184000000. On Froyo, it correctly showed as a real date. On the plus side, these categories retained the previous titles "Anniversary" and "Birthday" instead of the obnoxious "View anniversary" equivalents.

On the plus side, contact photos are much snappier about loading in. That's a big improvement, for me.

Found something a little strange in the Calendar app settings. Under Calendar view setting the home time zone is greyed out and says GMT -7:00 Pacific Time. I am getting my time zone automatically from the network and in Date and Time settings it shows correctly as GMT -7:00 Mountain Daylight Time.

All my appointments show the right time, it's just the time zone is being labeled incorrectly.

Those three buttons mentioned in point 1 above are: a search button, a "new contact" button, and a groups button.

You don't ever need to include a search button anywhere on the screen when there's a physical search button on the phone. The new contact button is already part of the set of menu buttons, and the groups button could easily be moved down there too.

I now see five contacts on the screen at a time, and I believe Froyo showed seven or eight.

not sure if this goes hear or in the call quality. It's really an issue on the dialpad application. On the lower left of my dial pad, right next to the green call button is a contact icon with the "+" sign on it. It is similar to the motowidget that shows up on the home screens. Anyway, tapping this does absolutely nothing on my phone right now. I'll mess with it tomorrow when I'm not afraid of accedentally dialing someone on the east coast and see if I can figure it out. It's not quite intuitive what it's supposed to do and right now it don't do nothin'
