I am not receiving emails unless I do a manual sync from the account.  However, I cannot receive email in gmail.  I checked my settings and they are set up to push.

In addition, I cannot get the sync icon to go away.  Even if I put the phone in airplane mode.

I get a shading/shadow when at the top or bottom of a scroll which is a little strange to me.

While I don't like to suggest it, would you try a Factory Data Reset? Others have said that gets rid of the syncing icon and I suspect it will clear up your email issues, too.

I wish I could change the icons for the multiple email accounts I have within the non-gmail app. I get a message that there is a new email, but there is no way of identifying which email account has the new email message. When there are several email accounts, it is a pain in the neck to have to go through each of them to see which account has the new message.

Not really. This particular thread seems to cry out for Factory Data Reset. I think it will address most of the sync issues, the sync icon, etc. Too bad, though.

Everything went fine with the update, except with my Corporate Sync account.  This is with an Exchange 2007 server.  At any rate, I saw that my email was erased and re-syncing, which was no big deal.  Also, it looked like all my contacts were there too.  But when I went to see my calendar, I only had the option to see my various Google calendars and phone calendar.  When I went into Accounts, my Corporate Sync account was not listed.  I tried to re-add it, but it said "This account already exists".  So for the heck of it, I powered off/on my phone and that didn't fix it.

So I made sure my stuff was backed up with Google Backup and I did a Factory Reset of my phone.  I was obviously able to re-add all my accounts, including my Corporate Sync account and now I can see my Corporate Sync calendar, in addition to my Email and Contacts.  All my apps are currently downloading from Google and I should be back to normal by morning.

Other than that, needing to do a Factory Reset to get my Corporate Sync account working properly, everything else seemed to work like a charm before and after I did the Factory Reset.  I'm not sure if doing a Factory Reset to fix my Corporate Sync calendar issues was my only option or not, but I was sure it would work, as I didn't see any other choice.

Matt, maybe you've seen that oddity with other users and there was another way to fix it?

Chris

The new layout for the calendar is great and easier to navigate. Also like the LinkedIn integration for contacts.

Where is the LinkedIn integration??

Had issues getting Hotmail to use Corporate Sync. I entered the details into the Accounts, leaving the User Name option blank. It would not sync. When I went to the settiings, the app had placed my email address without the @hotmail.com in the user name box. I added the @hotmail.com after the user name and tada! Just thought I would pass this on for anyone using hotmail

Settings:

User name: youremail@hotmail.com

Password: your password

Calendar: check

Contacts: check

Email: check

Email address: youremail@hotmail.com

Server: m.hotmail.com

Account name: Hotmail

Use secure connection: check

Verify Certificate: check

Sync messages for : 3 days

Okay, I did find something odd.  I know that prior to the update, I had listed my wife's information in the ICE contact.  However, after the update to Gingerbread, this area has been completely cleared.  Not a huge deal, just something that I found to be odd.

Matt, if you need me to verify this further, I have another Droid X available to me that didn't get into the Soak (my wife's phone).  I can upgrade her phone and send before and after screenshots and such.

No need for screenshots, but do check it, thanks.

And I took your advice. I removed and then readded my Facebook account and birthdays now show up normally.

Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts > Add account and you will see a LinkedIn option.

Using Droid X with GMail and Corporate Exchange,

  • Received an error with Exchange sync
  • Changed domain, saved, changed domain back and sync started working, will continue to monitor
  • Calendars are working well after sync issue fixed, improved interface
  • I like the letters along the right side in the contacts list
  • Birthdays seemed to be messed up in contacts

I'm using exchange through my office.  I have had no issues except that it had to re-sync my data after installation.
