Unfortunately, measure has stopped.

2015-09-28, 11:29 AM

I get this message every minute and its always closing all the opened apps when it comes. It simply says Unfortunately measure has stopped and there's an option OK you need to press and it'll disappear and come again after a minute and its always closing the apps when it appears.
I've factory resetted my phone twice to fix this, nothing works. what is it and how can I fix it?

Look at Settings Apps, Running apps, and see if there is anything running that looks like it should not be, try to kill it and see if that things happens again, if it does, kill another thing. until you find the process causing it. if that does not help only Lenovo Service Center can help you if in warranty.

Yes, I had read somewhere the same thing awhile ago and I found out about MonkeyTest and Time service apps which cause this thing.

I have disabled these two apps and ikeyboard named random app, as there was no option to uninstall them.

After disabling these 3-4 apps, the error has not occurred again but I don't think it's a permanent solution. These apps have just been disabled, they are not removed. They are so strong they weren't being deleted even after twice factory reset.

So what is the solution to get rid of them forever? I must repeat the error has not yet occurer again after disabling them but how to remove these virus apps.

There is a security named app which comes pre installed in Lenovo s850 and it regularly downloads NetQin.apk and security.apk even if I delete them from my file manager after every reboot. Is that natural?

(1) How did you do the factory reset, can you tell me the steps you did?

(2) Based on google search I found this fix, however, no guarantee. This is not Lenovo thing so please make sure to read some sources via internet on how to get rid of that stuff.

The complete factory reset without backup as well, removal of everything.

Settings > Backup and Reset > Factory Reset > Reset my Phone without Backing up my contacts and other stuff.

But even that wouldn't remove the virus apps they were coming back, but how.. Is any pre installed app doing it?

Wow, that is some powerful virus. Look at the link I posted above. The word "fix" is a hyperlink to some article that explains about these two apps. They seem to be ultrapowerful viruses as ypu said they control your phone and instalthemself back over internet. There are likely in the system folder from where you can't uninstall apps bit just disable them.

Do you habe android L amd Vibe UI?

The good news is that Vibe UI is also very powerful :-) So it allows you to disable apps from the system folder. If you had other phone this would likely not be possible.

You have also allowed to install apps from uknown sources. If you don't want a virua only install from google app store :-)

Vibr UI in Adroid L also has permissions control so you can look up what permissions these apps have and block them. Also likely you allowed those apos to be the admins of your phonez that is some other setting somewhere.

You need to google on these apps and see other forums how other people removed it. Try that link I posted under the hyperlinked word. :-)

Well I was just starting to type this message and this error saying unfortunately measure has stopped just appeared again and now it is continuously popping up after few seconds, it is so difficult to type.

I had disabled all these suspicious apps as they were not uninstall-able, but looks like they found a way back probably. Let me check if they were again enabled or redownloaded themselves somehow, I don't know. One process I remember happened before it occured is the update of Security named app that comes pre installed.

I guess I'll have to try your fix though it has two options, using the titanium app to freeze them like I disabled them on my phone or restarting firmware etc.. I don't know how to do that process at all, I've no idea how can I delete the software and install it again..

I might need help with that process or I might end up breaking my phone. The Lenovo service center is 850km away from my place so no way I can go there.

They have entered the system folder and admin around your phone. Get it out before it is too late. They might have also included itself to the factory reset firmware. If you have the skills search in google how to get rid of it, if not bring it to Lenovo service center, they would need to give you the firmware from their conputer, because your firmware already seems corrupted.
